Just gotta say I loove those frickin' lasers. Can't tell whether some of the I saw them do was real or just in my head. :crazy:
Not that into Armin's set in the beginning, we left the club for a while, cause it was so crowded too. Came back around 2 and the rest was better. The vibe was good for Sat. night. Everyone stayed late, packed through the last track, 5am. :whip: I came down the stairs to see everyone holding up some kind of recording device, a magical sea of light.:tongue2 Overall I've seen better and worse Armin sets. |

my first time at ruby skye, beautiful club and nice lay out!!!
wanted to say a big thank you to the spundae crew for their lovely hospitality, very much appreciated!!!! was a ton of fun seeing the SFTA's, you guys are always so much fun and gracious host!
i didn't get there until after 11 pm but enjoyed the last part of taj and dirtyhertz set. CL's set was a bit better than the LA set back in march, although it felt towards the end his tracks kinda went no where and the transition didn't flow too well. my tastes in music has changed so much in the last 6 months so i'm not really up on CL's music anymore.
now the main reason i flew to SF, jOOf!!!!!! like i just said, my taste in music has really changed but john has been and always will be my favorite dj!!!! not just b/c he's just a nice, personalble guy but for his impeccable professionalism, his dedication to the music and how it affects the crowd, the energy he gives back to us, his fans, the pure excitement he gets from the tracks he throws down, his silliness behind the decks, his sheer craziness he feels from the sick tracks he throws down set after set, his ability to mix which for the most part each time i've seen him is flawless, his loyalty to promoters and the music industry in general and the fact that he leaves fans begging for more everytime!!!!!!
now as dave t said, i thought his LA set was a bit better, that night back in march was completely magical, i've seen john probably close to 15 times and i'd have to say that the LA show was by far the best, most amazing set i have had the pleasure of dancing to yet!!!!! but the SF set was right up there!!!! i love, love, love that second track he dropped, i believe it was the junkie xl/sasha remix, correct me if i'm wrong, i love the fact that he remixed a psy version of ferry's rock your body rock, to me that just shows not only his talent but his fun with all kinds of tracks!!! he always has a great progression and his sets always flow and take you on a magical dancing ride!!! he really does watch the crowd and their reactions to let him know what to do/where to go and also to connect with the crowd!!!! he is awsome, and yes i am biased b/c he has been my favorite for over 3 years now and will continue to be for the reasons stated above!
like i said my taste in music has really changed and i've been listening to alot more house, techno and minimal but regardless of the genre i truly love and appreciate talented djs and great music!!!!
matt thank you for everything, always love getting into trouble, i mean adventures with you, lindsay so great to see you again and thank you for opening up your home to us, nice to see mecca and his lovely lady, dave t, taj and rich again and meeting dj blurr and spinvinyle as well as others that i met and can't remember your names!!! i'm really bad with names so please forgive me :) such a great time in SF but man the wait at the airport and flying home sucked ass!!!!! i really do hate that interruption of partying to have to return home ;) going to the End up was a blast as always, man the characters you meet there, too much fun!!!
i crashed when i got home and then woke up in enough time to open my place up for afterhours for the LA crew to party after markus schulz and sweetcandy girls b-day!!! i'm brain dead today but it was worth it!

gypsygirl you're not biased.... j00f is truly the best, i mean how many people out there really loves this music to death??? i can count it by my fingers and toes... that's bout it. We're are truly alone in this world, that's why when we united like friday night, truly magical night happened!!!
it's good seing you again, and ur review is always the best, trust me i know u love j00f but when u say it's good... IT's REALLY GOOD!!! not a bias opinion here.
one thing that really made me happy was that j00f didn't play any 'cheese bomb' psy (infected mushroom -deeply disturb, and astrix - coolio) to end his set... he instead did "CJ Bolland - The prophet" that itself highlighted SF set over my LA memories... but i guess, in LA... the funktion 1 speakers really killed the floor there! we need to get some of that up in here!
good to see you Gypsygirl, seeing u on the floor during j00f set always makes my j00f experience complete!

| Wonder how many of you have experienced Ruby's system when they have the bass in high gear. It wasn't this weekend. But when they do the bass is SO F'N POWERFUL, it's uncomfortable to stand in...especially when you stand near a wall and the bass is bouncing off of it. I've had to walk outside the club a few times int he past because I thought my bones were gonna explode from the vibrations...and there are two commmon complaints with Ruby's sytem...if it's not too loud, the bass makes your bones uncomfortable lol...I have not been around a Funktion One system that matches it...the key is finding a spot for the bass to bounce off the walls and nail you...it can literally hurt...Anyhow, just wanted to say that if they wanted to bring on the bass in Ruby the sound people could have cranked it up a few notches w/o a problem. :) |

Yeah I remember that, I was loving CL's set on Friday, my favorite for the weekend.
Is there any explanation why sound was so poor at RS? |

gypsygirl, it was excellent meeting you too. Im hoping that some other LATA's come out to SF events so we can all meet one another, or the next time we have a chance to get up there I make the next trip.
