actually one of the Mediterranean restaurants Drew n I hit up from time to time in Long Island has made some pretty yummy medium to medium rare sirloin every time we order it. but I dunno, i dont eat steak too often outside.
ive DEF had some yummy steak @ home tho :toothless. I like it somewhat bloody.
not sure if i said this before but I remember going to Smith and Wollenskys awhile back and trying one of their steaks. I remember not being wholly impressed with the place and the steak wasn't memorable in a good way (maybe compared to price since its expensive there?). i dunno, maybe a fluke?
omg im making myself SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HUNGRY and i havent even had lunch yet. :( :whip: broccoli isnt much to look fwd to when theres conversation about steak. grrr |

my ruth's chris review from this sunday: decent, but for the money spent i expected a lot more of the food and service. at least their sides were substantial and tasty. overall, i probably won't be going back in the near future, and if i did, it wouldn't be at the garden city location.
a better meal can be had at jake's or embers for half the price (or at luger's and homestead for a few bucks more). |

Someone should host a techno-dinner at one of these places if we can get them to play some techno while we eat... Either that or a techno-breakfast, which was a college favorite.
I really think I should hit up a brunch this weekend, I haven't done that in months! |

I agree o smith & wollensky's....super-overpriced for the quality. Below average steak, decent sides, good apps. |

its funny though, by chance awhile back I went to that restaurant Michael Jordans for a friend's bday (is this still in Grand Central Station, i have NOO clue). Well anyway, my friend got filet mignon but I decided to be adventurous and ordered the Buffalo Steak. To my surprise that Buffalo Steak was madd juicier and more flavorful, even putting the filet mignon to shame. its something that I still remember to this day. ok, enough reminescing...haha
anyway, right now Drew and I are digging into some huge Porterhouses that we just bought from BJ's in Queens. Cooked them medium (his) and medium rare (mines). They are f*ckin DELICIOUS...props to the chef (Drew)    can't be beat for $18.00 total. |

i've been avoiding this since i first saw the thread, cause far be it from me to ruin anyone's yummy steak dinner, but
Outback gives craploads of money to the republican party, and also pro-life groups fighting Planned Parenthood.
I don't assume everyone's on my page. if republican and pro life are your cup of tea, go for it.
Just want you to think about where you're buying your food. There are LOTS of wonderful cow killin establishments in the world, especially NYC, so just take a moment to know the companies you're supporting. |

hmmm, I never knew.
Way back when, when all my friends were becoming Brownies and starting a Troop, my mom wouldn't let me join the Girl Scouts. She had somehow traced them as having ties to Planned Parenthood. Not really sure how she made that connection, but I was one of few girls in my whopping class of 17 students who wasn't a Girl Scout.
So I joined when I turned 18 :happy2: |
