| As far as I know it will be the first time that Blank & Jones will play some songs from their upcoming album (June 2008). So little premiere night this weekend! :D |

That was the only time i have been to ruby skye | while RS isn't my favorite place I do tend to enjoy B&J gigs. I know a few who don't but everyone has their taste :) Looking forward to Dyloot opening too as I've never caught a full set by him, only a few minutes here and there.
Also grats on your 1015 gig ...but on a Tuesday? Sure the date is right or am I forgetting a holiday? :p |

its may 3rd, its a saturday. Hope you can make it out. Hey dont you have a slick camera? Would be nice to get a few shots that night...
And i was really looking forward to the ruby sky night, but it was slow and i was regretting not going to Lovelee so maybe that was why i didnt have much fun. But im just not into what B&J were playing that night...alot of vocals and epic |

I didn't see them at Ruby in September, but when they played there last February easily the best set I've heard from them live...not all agree, though. Too bad the lighting in Ruby with all the Bourbon Street decorations (Mardi Gras weekend), including street lights that were tapped into the lighting system, overshadowed anything. Far and away the best lighting experience (lasers not included) I've ever seen first hand. I thought they got a midi keyboard control the lights because it was going so crazy...but nope...I just know I had never seen the lighting at Ruby so insanely crazy and right on point with the music 100% of the night.
Anyhow, aside from all this what makes a Blank & Jones night good, IMO, isn't necessarily the quality of their set. It's more of the party atmosphere they can bring. Their set can be all over the place and they may play too many (of their) older tracks sometimes, but on the right night with them the crowd just wants to party and it makes for a real, real good time. Kyau & Albert is another duo that I feel the same about. |
