I didn't see them at Ruby in September, but when they played there last February easily the best set I've heard from them live...not all agree, though.
best set from them was probably at Love Parade after party for me even with the power going out a couple of times. I remember not being able to leave and missing Schulz and others in the main room. Did catch Ferry but he was ok compared to what the TA room had to offer :happy2:

That was the second time seeing them live for me and they really rocked that place, being a great sport about the interruption on two occasions. B&J and A+B in that room were the highlights of that night.

It's more of the party atmosphere they can bring. Their set can be all over the place and they may play too many (of their) older tracks sometimes, but on the right night with them the crowd just wants to party and it makes for a real, real good time. Kyau & Albert is another duo that I feel the same about.

I agree with that. The crowd was going nuts back in February. I think that is partly why it was such a good night. But I've never been to a night at Ruby where they decorate the place to the 9's. So that also made it so much fun. Kyau & Albert - the first time I saw them was at love parade a few years ago. I was instantly hooked. They were able to create and bring such good energy.

Yeah..B&J kicks ass. Ive seen them the last two times at Ruby and they totally kicked ass both times. Will be a great show tonight for sure..

Got there at 12:10 just after Blank & Jones went on, so I missed Dyloot's set.

I left at 3:30am while James Williams was closing (and playing some good T00Ns I must admit, keeping the crowd there)...I had been feeling a tad ill going into the night and after drinking pretty much water the whole night (I had 1/2 a beer when I first got there, but couldn't even finish that!) around 2:50 I made the mistake of having a Red Bull (should have known better) and proceeded to get really sick to my stomach after that and after trying to see if fresh air outside would help, decided to go before it got any worse...made it home just in time for my stomach to give in and force the redbull and water and whatever else is in my stomach back out...ok, TMI! Back to the night...

When first getting there and walking through the crowd, it had a different feel to it than usual....at least for Ruby. Just had a feeling it was a bit of a party crowd...and yep, it sure was. A great crowd. Not too packed, but not empty. And they were certainly jumping around more than you usually see, unless it's like Armin or someone the crowd jumps to no matter what, lol.

It was def one of Blank & Jones better sets (though still don't think it was as good as last Febs). First 45 minutes were strong...they started off playing pretty darn hard compared to usual and most people I talked to were loving it... then it went no where for a bit then the last hour-and-half (they played three hours) was really, good...very solid. Still are playing a few of those classics, but not nearly as many as we usually hear.

I have to say that I really liked the tracks they played off their new album overall. I only caught two or three of them for sure (might have played more than that but just didn't look at their lappy to see if it was their track), but I liked every one that I know is a new one of theirs....well, other than the vocals. I would just love dub mixes, lol.

Blank & Jones' weakness in their producing when it comes to my taste is that I personally feel the vocals (the style of vocals their tracks tend to have, that is) takes away from the track...

After capping off a good set, they hurt my soul when they played one of their worst tracks EVER as an encore....Blank & Jones Feat. Elles - Mind Of The Wonderful. If god only knew how much I can't stand that track. I don't get what people like about it....I love B&J but that track...UGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Met Michael Conway (West Coast TA) finally as he was there and Blank & Jones played his new track...knew it had to be the guy who ran up all giddy and smiling had this "It's my track!" look on his face...I give the track a big thumbs up, despite it being vocal trance (which I'm verrry picky with).

In the end, solid set if you just sit there and focus on the pure party fun. It was nothing mindblowing, but as I've said before...that's not what nights when they play are about...they are good party-atmosphere DJs like Kyau & Albert where it's not about the structure of the set but just playing good tracks that keeps the party kicking..it's hard to explain ...just have to experience it for yourself!

While I only heard a half hour of Jame's set, he was playin very strong and kept the crowd in to it...his style certainly fits better as a closer than an opener, IMO. Times I've seen him open I thought he was just playin a bit too strong (bein as it was an opening set)...but it's just my personal tastes. I was really liking what he was playing but the stomach issue got control of me and decided it'd be better for my health if I left!

Good to see they had a good set last night. Now I'm being swayed more to see them tonight.

I know what you mean about not having the greatest set but being able to move the crowd. I like those DJs better because they make everything fun. It makes it worthwhile for those that attend. The worst thing to see is having a very good set, and people are just looking at each other wondering what's going on. :haha:

some of my friends who went said it was way proggy.....hard for me to believe......is this true or not??
