so i finally finished a reaktor/lemur template last week and decided to use it in some areas of this mix, such as some of the dubby pads, triggers, percussion, glitching and mixing. other reaktor templates used were Massive, Lurker and some custom effects by offthesky. this was probably the most fun i've had mixing. if you have patience, you might like this as it isn't really an energetic or skull-ing mix.
anyways, i hope you guys somewhat enjoy this.
oh and it isn't inspired by the tv-show lost :p

This was beautiful man - reminded me so much of that show, "Futurama."

In all seriousness, this was outstanding - though I hesitate to levy too much praise on it because it's not something I can really understand well from a technical standpoint and it was EXACTLY what I needed to hear at the moment I listened to it, so I was completely sold without being quite sure what I was completely sold on. The way the first 20 or so minutes flow together was just epic.
Will get many, many more listens from me - and has probably found a permanent home on the iPod.

The first thirty-five minutes or so are very, very well put together. Points for Gorje Hewek - At The Cafe and Christopher Willits - Evergreen. The rest of the mix is superb, as well. I especially liked how seamlessly it flowed from Ambient to Dub.
All in all, this has to be one of my favorite mixes I've picked up from TA and will be on rotation for a very long time. Great work.

Do you produce this kind of stuff, then?
I'm getting back into the ambient and downtempo thing myself and really enjoying it. It seems so much less restrictive than making straight-ahead dance music. A lot more room for experimenting. |
