| It was expected that's why I got around 11pm, I personally enjoyed Markus set better than Armin... |

seems the way they work is everyone that bought presales basically donated to parkwest. they held everyone that had presales outside because they knew they'd either:
a. just get tired of it and leave, pocketing the money from the presale ticket
b. get desperate enough and dish out the $200 cover charge to get in.
either way parkwest wins i guess. |
I don't doubt they were forced to stop letting people in but my beef is they surely know the capacity of the club and have had all the related permits carried out to get this capacity figure. Therefore why would everyone in possession of a ticket for this sold out event not have a spot inside?
Answer = They continued to charge people turning up without tickets, surely this makes the sale of tickets without giving the ticket holder what they paid for illegal? I don't see how it could be seen any other way and I'd be amazed if everyone with tickets who was shafted for 3 hours outside lastnight let this slide. 200/300 people each paying $50-100 = a lot of money! |

but if that's true about the fire marshal, then why is everyone saying that inside there was room? i heard the second room had plenty of space during armin's set. and now ambs is saying even in armin's room there was some space. i would assume that means they weren't at capacity yet? |
Sounds to me like the whole night was a mess. I would think that building codes weren't up to par, or the people working the club just didn't care. To leave all pre-sales in line for 3 hours makes it seem like they wanted the place to look busy, and were trying to get whoever wanted to pay the most to be let in first. I was not there and knew that it was not going to be handled properly at all. Sorry for those who had complications |

My friend and I got there at like 9. We asked some security guys outside how much it was to get in.
The first one said $80. The second guy said $100. When it was 10PM, the third one said they were starting at $100. Then this guy with the megaphone said they were starting at $120 when the line was forming.
A Friend of mine was on a list but wasn't attending, so I stepped off the line and see if I could use his name. Turns out the name wasn't even on the list. So I said it and went to Ferry instead. 10 minutes later, I heard the price bumped to $200. Crazy. |

As I essentially said in another post made here in reply to one of Noel Sanger's posts:
Overcharging like that to the empth degree is just completely anti-dance music...especially when they already had the event "sold out..." i just saw all of this coming when i saw Wantickets post that more tickets were suddenly avaliable, but for maybe before 2AM entry as opposed to the previous before 3AM tickets... More than greed to oversell like you're an airline...Fly Club Space and Parkwest airlines... I think the people that got screwed the most were the event-hopping type who wished to catch all of their favorites wherever they were spinning... |

They were charging $120 @ 10AM this mmorning @ Space. Even the workers didn't think it was worth it!
I will highly consider the You pass next year! |

i guarantee that this had nothing to do with armada crew, just space management. they just oversold the presales by an insane amount, because as i was trying to sell my tickets within the line, i'd say that 98% of them had presales. i had to keep waiting until i saw new people go to the back of the line and it took me about an hour to finally find someone that needed tickets.
that makes me believe that this had nothing to do with parkwest letting in too many people at the door without presales. parkwest just got greedy i bet seeing how much presales were selling, so put god knows how many tickets for sale, even if it's way more than their capacity. |

I am just not going to Space next year. The only thing I go for any of LP's clubs is Sander on the terrace, and that was pretty lame this year. |

I'm with you here. Of course it's Space/Parkwest management's pure greed. No way would a promoter do this. They could have just kept selling tickets on Wantickets or Ticketweb.com. I'll tell you one thing: it is not wise to go to any event much later than the event starts or without a presale or willcall, because they can gouge you like this.
I got into Armada within 20 mins of getting in line at 11PM with my presale. Too much later and all this hell starting happening... |

Wow, must have just missed this mess. I got to Parkwest right at midnight and walked right in with my ticket. No line, no fuss, nothing. And I must say, the entire night there was definitely some more space left in the club. I did see the fire marshall scurrying through a few times, but even he had plenty of room to move about. The situation really sucks as I know a number of people who waited forever outside, most of who just finally gave up.....
As far as the party itself, I stayed in the main room the entire night and had a blast. Armin played basically his normal set time, and Markus didn't finish up until 8!!! The vibe and music were amazing. |
