but if that's true about the fire marshal, then why is everyone saying that inside there was room? i heard the second room had plenty of space during armin's set. and now ambs is saying even in armin's room there was some space. i would assume that means they weren't at capacity yet? |
That Parkwest incident is just a quick glimpse of how they hate on trance in Miami. I bet you couldn't even move @ Space, probably over crowded like always. Reason why? House music was playing. To be honest the line @ Parkwest was 10 times longer than the one @ Space. But there excuse to hate on Trance was that the Fire Marshall was not allowing anymore people. Ha! Ha! Blame it on the authorities, maybe some people will believe it. I didn't because I was inside and it sure wasn't that packed, it never reached capacity. Space, Parkwest, Vice & Cameo's are all a bunch of trance haters. Enough said! |

| When all this was going on @ parkwest, how was Space's line and stuff? I have not heard how the Yoshi party was. |

Yooshi party was ridiculous... sharam and dubfire tagged team w/ gervais filling in here and there for the entire 12-13 hrs i was at space... but onto the BS...
semi-big crowd at the gate @ space when I got there around 3:30-4. No one was going in, and I assumed it was the fire marshal ish like last year.. but people eventually were let in. This year, the bouncer was just standing there and taking bribes to who would pay... otherwise you weren't getting in. my 4 friends and I paid 100 for the 5 of us to get in, but I saw a couple pay 150. I couldn't drag myself from the main room until the end of deep dish's set, which ended around 8 in the main room.
Big mistake... same BS to get up to the terrace as the front door.. no one was going up unless you bribed them. I paid 30 bucks(i told the guy that's all I had... he reluctanlty let me up after an hour of following him around the club). But yeah, some poor dude and his gf paid 100 bucks to get up. Add that to the $120 door charge(my friend had a presale for 70 and they made her cough up another $50 in cash... ) and you have one expensive as night / day. But as far as value goes, it was worth it to some degree b/c deep dish especially spun a 12+ hour set, as opposed to the 200(and who knows what you paid to bribe to skip the line) for armada's crew |

R U kidding me. What R U Oliver Stone with your conspiracy theories? It's a trance thing now? Lay off the meds buddy, this type of thing can and does happen at all types of events.
I went to TRANCE events on Thursday and Friday at Space which is owned by the same group, the club was packed as each night and no one had any issues at all getting in. And no one has told me of any other type of bad experiences with not being allowed into trance events.
The only thing this was a "quick glimpse" of is the greed of some door people and what happens when a club sells out an event yet some door people decide to start letting people in the back door for kickbacks and payoffs of up to $200 instead of letting in ticket holders. The club does not have any conspiracy against trance. Otherwise they would not have booked the biggest trance acts at Space Thursday & Friday and at Parkwest Saturday.
I saw LP (Space/Parkwest owner) outside of Parkwest and he was visibly pissed off at some of the door people at Parkwest. Hopefully he fires everyone responsible, because the door people that did this probably pocketed the money they charged to sneak in people & LP will end up having to deal with a load of demands for refunds. And he probably will give refunds. In 2005 I saw him take out a wad of $100 bills and offer refunds to everyone that was pushing and complaining right there in the PVD line. Funny thing is no one took him up on the offer. |

so who will be asking for refunds? myself and my two friends stood in line for about 2 hours and then said f this...ive never been involved in anything like that before
thats basically the reason I like buying presales, to guarantee entree into the club
sad i missed markus...im sure it was epic =( |

Don't get me started about Parkwest!!!
Ok, so we pulled the big mistake of leaving Ultra to go home and change, and my friend got sick so we didn't end up going but we still had tickets so I went to go sell them (they were only good till 3am). I had already gotten a call from JD8180 about the line and all that crap and how he is selling his ticket cause they are not letting anyone in. I had friends inside saying it was not packed AT ALL and that the room where Jennifer Rene and Menno was empty. When I got to the door I asked how much tickets were going for and they said they didn't know yet and then they decided to put the cost at $300!!!:whip: Thats when they also started letting people in for free at the Ultra after party. Whatever, I hate Space with their crap! lol |

This was the worst party of the event. The venue sucked. Waited in line for 1.5 hours with pre-sale tix. Got in the venue, it was small. The music was not on point. Armin needs to be a SPACE not a a place like PARKWEST. The place sucked. What a waste of time. This palce will not survive. It will be something else next year. Should have went to SPACE>>>
The vibe was not there. Nothing to do with ARMIN. The palce sucked. Oh I said that already. THE PLACE SUCKED.... |

LOL!
Parkwest is SICK. LP did a great job with the club. The decor, sound, 2nd room, everything. Don't blame the club for the ty DJ you saw.
Thursday night at Parkwest for Lawler was ing epic.
Parkwest main room > Space main room... hands down. |

I had my doubts when I first walked in to the place. Remy was playing, place looked tiny, crowd was just kind of standing around for the most part. All those thoughts, however, were put to rest once armin went on. The lights and sound and decor and crowd and music were ALL on point. The fact that the place was small is what ended up making this one of the best parties of conference. It was a very intimate venue to see armin and markus, and for most of the night there was not one person who was not completely into it. The vibe was most certainly awesome. At the height of the excitement, the so called vip area all but cleared out as people wanted to join the madness on the dance floor. I can see how a long wait outside might put one out of the right mindset for the evening, but the energy in that room was rediculous......
Markus for 5 hours FTW!!! |

You really think Parkwest is a small venue?
The only bigger venues in Miami are Space, Mansion, Karu and Y, and maybe a couple I haven't seen. |

Stupidist comment of the thread.
All I can say is we got there@ 10 and they started letting people in right before 11. Had no problems getting in. Sound is the same as at Space so no complaints there. Those that say the venue was too small, "The size of the venue was irrelivant since it wasnt packed to capacity because of the latecommers". Those that didnt get in or had to buy over-priced tickets have no one but themselves to blame for not planning early or better. Next time get there by 11 to avoid bull like this that is sure to happen every year. Ill bet if you dig up an old thread from last year, you will see that people had the same issues then as now. Learn from it and show up early and buy tickets atleast a month in advance. |
