this is IMPOSSIBLE. why? because everything coming out is xp compatible. xp is the dominant OS and therefore they would NOT alienate their marketshare. this is the dumbest thing ever. now if you said vista, id be slightly agreeing as drivers are still being made available. and the reason this has taken so long is the drivers have been TOTALLY redone for vista.
pvd: ok, im going to give you a word of advice. if you go pc, lower the mount of ram you get, bump the hd, and the screen and gfx as high as possible. ram seems to be the single most overpriced thing in a laptop. this makes the overall cost of the laptop cheap and effective. screen and gfx are the things people want more of but cant upgrade later. |

If you get a PC, don't get Vista. Get it with XP. Seriously. |

| i had a chance to play around with leopard os a couple of days ago at work (co-worker just got an apple), and was deeply impressed with it's flexibility, speed, and design. i am in the thoughts of getting an apple myself. i currently have a desktop and laptop pc. |

Wouldn't that sort of defeat the purpose of buying a Mac then? You can run Linux on a PC, and the hardware itself will be way cheaper than Mac hardware, right? For the same specs, I mean. |

the apple hardware execution is bar none the best. looks good, great performance, and feature packed. plus badass customer service for ed up machines. :D |

Certainly won't argue the customer service part, but are they really THAT much better than a PC machine, for the extra cost? And I'm not sure what you mean by feature packed? |

lol i just thought about it, and feature packed is really a crock of . cause there are laptops out there that have a ton more features.
and package is much better. when you consider the quality of the screens, keyboard, and other things, its much better.im sitting on a dell and it just sucks ass. ive used hp same thing. sony looks and works well, for about 10 minutes. then it breaks. toshiba is great but i need discrete gfx. none of this Intel GMA . and then theres Fujitsu, same problem as toshiba. i could go specialty like alienware, but then its specialty. not what i need anymore. |

| Depends on what you want, dude... go to best buy, try it all out, then get what you want. |

| well Lepoard OS is UNIX based, so I am interested in seeing how it is, play around with it, and how it compares with other UNIX systems out there. |

take BSD, mod it to all hell so it no longer resembles BSD, and then call it your own. then port the API of apple to it, along with the GUI and filesystem, and you now have OS X. :D |

Yeah, fair enough I guess. I have a HP and love it, though it was a ING NIGHTMARE 'downgrading' it to XP. It's got a load of features though, which is cool. It's a big bastard though... |
