| PC! all the way. If you want a nice brand new Dell laptop, I can hook it up at a very nice price. |

bull. everything is still XP compatible thank god |
Actually, he is somewhat right. Some brands do/did not provide the drivers needed to run XP instead of Vista. Sony was one for example.. but they finally released a "downgrade-package" for XP after a lot of complaints from customers. |

| I've never had a problem with my macbook and it's never crashed on me. It's your $1000-$2000 so I wouldn't go get something based solely off of opinions on TA. |

you called me out. I was wrong, I admit it. XP is compatible with everything. Either way the video card and Wifi still did not work on XP. |

i switched to mac and after getting used to leopard which was almost instant i cant picture myself going back at all.
i cant explain it, but theres a kind of different feeling when using OSX, everything is where it should be and everything is working hte way it should and has a sense of 'smoothness'
but this is an argument that has gone on for ages, go to bestbuy and try it out and see what you like |

So I've been debating if I want to get another computer, most likely a desktop. My laptop's kinda falling apart but it'll hold together for quite a while longer, and I'd rather get something more suited for music production. I can find the parts and whatnot myself, but I'm more wondering where to look. I reeeeeally don't feel like buying all the parts myself, and I'll be getting a 3rd party audio interface, but should I check like dell, or ibm, or where?
Also, no macs, sorry. No arguments, just sayin i'm not going to buy a mac. |

| Yeah, Im going to get a Mac for my next computer, although if you're not going to utilize the Unix or the kickass programs, then its not worth it. At least not until the rest of the world goes Mac. |

well i have been advised somewhat against it but there are a few decent barebones on tiger direct that save you the hassle of sorting all of that out yourself, they usually have case, mobo, cpu(which could be upgraded later) and mem(also upgradeable) and potentially HD. they are often limited in some sense and you usually have to get a copy of windows still, but performance-wise, paying 500 for what you could get for 1100 or more with a dell is worth it. plus you arent re-buying keyboards and mice, et al|
such as, such as...
