No there isn't. Often, it's just a matter of listening to EDM and slowly finding out what's supposed to be the good stuff.
In my case, no one, absolutely no one, will ever convince me that this mnml trend is better than happy hardcore. |

Correct response: Play liquid funk or something great yet acessable. Instead of being like wtf that stuff is teh suck. Then burn him a liquid funk set... and eventually get him into other stuff. Or replace liquid funk with other genre... but probably not the fully intelligent stuff you obviously seem to think is way better than all else.
P.S. the stuff I listen to is way better than the stuff you listen to.
although on topic:
What pisses me off is the whole thing with hardstyle... I mean they get on limewire and get a few (immature) tunes and are like oh yeh mindblowingly dancey but the thing is... theres tons of EDM out that might appeal to them after they are bored of that but they never look into it. Like for example this one guy I know recently got into hardstyle... so I linked him a darkpsy set and he loved it (despite going wtf do you mean it goes for 2 hours and then listening to it in 3 sessions). Drum n bass would probably be a better genre to recomend... but still IMO if you know what to recomend its not so hard to get people into EDM. Or another guy who thought everything musical died in 1980! I linked him a liquid funk set and he loved it... so goes to show.
