Haha exactly, only one if that of those samples was Indian. |
I bet in America everyone beyond Europe is either Indian or Arab. After all they look very suspicious!!!!!!!! Don't you think!? Nice and easy way to simplify the world. |

Yeah, well, there's tons of English-spoken pop/rock music coming out of anywhere from Germany or France or Holland or England or Italy (and their respective accents), but to the people of the world, it's probably "American" so touche' :) Generalizations are generalizations, we can't possibly know the language or origin of every song in that montage, so your statement about Americans is as much a generalization as the poster's or the videoman's :)
As for sampling. Maybe it's because I used to be heavy into hip hop, but I see it as an art form in itself. A lot more goes into sampling than you think. To find such an obscure record as some of those oldies 1970s that Timbaland sampled is itself a challenge. Granted, permission should be given (as I've seen sampling credits given by most good producers who do it) or listed in the CD or album. But, I wouldn't characterize it as stealing. Half of the EDM tunes out there required less work to make than to find a random 1970s Arabic record, put it in reverse, add a bassline and transform it into a hip hop tune, you'd be surprised... Thumbs up to Timbaland for some of those songs. |

yeah but those pop-singers are singing in English. The singers in the video are singing in arabic. And arabic and hindi are as different as English and Chineese. |

Fair enough :) I stand corrected, but I wouldn't think Europeans are any more inclined to know the difference between the languages, no need to pick on the Americans as ignorant (on other matters, maybe, however) haha... :clown: |

if there is one thing to pick on American it's not your obesity, your high crime figures, your disastrous presidents and leaders etc BUT your lack of knowledge of other cultures. |

the abdul halim hafez, well, actually hossam ramsay wrote and sang the track first, only abdul halim hafez made the track popular, sample for big pimpin. timbo's best sampling work, it's a replaying actually if you want to be technical. he used the first bar of the flute&string melody loop here, that is only in the intro.

my mom made that ID lol
