travel, for americans is really an issue of money, not that we dont want to see the world. Europeans can just take a train to another place, whereas americans have a 14 hour plane ride. our country bigger than the whole of europe. the regions are all very different (southern, northern, east coast, west coast...) so theres a lot to see if one wanted to travel in america. |

Cultural Knowledge is really regional based here...US is a very widespread country and each area is vastly different. Beliefs, habits, knowledge, etc...all different. I grew up in Florida and from there know a good bit about the Cuban, Puerto Rican, etc cultures....pretty much just the Latin America cultrues because Florida is full of people from Latin America.
Fast forward to 8 1/2 years ago when I decided pack up one suitcase full clothes and nothing else move to San Francisco with no job or anything..just my clothes and the rest of th money I had in my bank account (which wasn't much). It's a total cultrue shock here. It's a flat out melting pot. Mexican, Asian, Indian, Russian, Irish, Italian, LGBT, you pretty much name it and there's enough of it all to pick up culture differences...things I had little clue about when in Florida.
Why I love it here...and what SF is known for...a melting pot for soooo many cultures.
Though I hate all the protests you see here because when they do it they act like ing morons...I'm down with protesting, but no need to act like idiots doing it...becaus it doesn't solve anything and only screws up things I need to do....like go to work...which one time was a pain in the ass because the protestors thought it would make a statement to throw everything they could (newspaper stands, trash cans, etc) into the middle of some major streets...then sit in huge circles at intersections. FI(H#$*&FGB#@UFI#$NFBY&#$BC#
Yeah, that's telling the goverment something. I wouldn't take them seroiusly myself. OK, getting off topic. :) |

OT:
Its very clear that he interpolated or sampled from those Arabic and Indian songs, and most likely did it without crediting the original artists or paying them royalties, with a very weak alibi for his reasoning. That said sampling in hip hop is the foundation upon which it was created, but what Timbaland (one of my fave producers) is doing is unethical for an artist and against the copyright laws. Does it take anything away from him being talented at what he does? No not really, but it hurts his character and integrity, and brings down the respect that other artists have towards hip hop. |
