People you feel you should like but you don't...

I've been trying to figure this one out. There's a person who I interact with on a rather frequent basis, either in person or over IM. She's really sweet, compassionate, smart, and sincerely means well for those in her life. I have no legit reason not to like her. But she's just not that socially adept and, honestly, quite unattractive (saying this makes me feel like a huge cock, but it's true.) I generally like to think that I'm humane enough to be above such low judgments, but I don't just not have fun when I'm around her, she positively irritates me like no one else does. All of this is making me feel like a horrible person. I feel like I should like her for her humility and empathy since I love those characteristics in others. But somehow it's just not enough for her. I've been trying to force myself to like her, but for some strange reason I can barely tolerate her.
Feel free to share personal stories to alleviate my suffering and let me know I'm not alone (please :nervous:?) Am I a shallow ****, or could it be that her and I are just incompatible? She's very innocent and naive, while I'm also naive but much more outgoing and partake in almost every debauchery. |

How fat is she?
Using a number between 1 and 10, how many chins does she have? |

She's going to be the mother of your children. You will never do any better.
Your children will also be fat and annoying. |

Not really, I've got far more female friends than male friends, and I couldn't possibly want to bang every single one of them (specially because I do have a girlfriend, so it would be pretty pointless to have female friends based solely on potential banghood :p).
Now, if she irritates you, accept this fact. You can't force yourself to like anyone - specially because if you do, you will definitely do more harm than good, as you will at some point or another look inhumanely annoyed. |

you can't fake chemistry.
it's my personal belief that people's personalities are like radio frequencies. when you meet someone, their "vibe" can jive with your own, jam or irritate you with nothing but white noise, or maybe have no effect at all.
don't feel guilty, you can't force something to happen if it's not there to begin with. |

agreed....to me it just seems like some people are meant to click and other's aren't. Seems you 2 weren't meant to click. |
