I've heard so many good things about that one, but also some people who say it's confusing and doesn't make any sense. I shall watch it as soon as possible. |

Haha, mock away young chicken!
Such an extraordinarily good film. The pacing is perfect, the drama is exciting, and the concepts are great. Perusing the wiki site afterwards is definitely a must, especially if you were smoking the ganja during the film! |

some people in this thread said so so I googled it..
"but Star Wars does not fill some of the most basic criteria that make a Science Fiction a Science Fiction. First it is not a prediction of the future. The story takes place "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." This is not a prediction of how human life will change due to technology or unpredicted alien encounters."
those have NEVER been my criteria for a sci-fi. I dunno.
My criteria is that it features technology way more advanced than we have in this present time, this world, this dimension. So it could take place anywhere in the past or in the future or even in present time, just in another dimension where things are different. |

I just think it's two different story archetypes that aren't particularly similar beyond the idea that they "both have futuristic looking technologies." |

I don't think it's that general.
(And to avoid future debates as to who is "right" or "wrong", I'm going to recommend everyone focus on the I in that sentence.) |
