So? The thread title didn't say anything about actually brand new mixes.. a few years here and there. :D Wrecked Angle's mix still is a brilliant remix of a classic and surely the best version since Jam & Spoon's '92 mixes.

Yes and no. I view it kind of like movies these days... so many pointless remakes just to throw in some new CGI effects over a played out storyline. (I'm looking at you 'Short Circuit' remakers!)

On the other hand, by saying no outright, you leave out all the remakes that took a sub-par original product and turned it into something genuinely more enjoyable.

There can be a piece, be it of film or music, that was amatuerly written and executed but had some good core elements worth exploring with more talent.

Still, as a generality I'd so no to the remakes, as usually they try to take an already good piece and turn it into a commercial vehicle for the flavor of the month rather than taking a poorly executed piece and giving it the care it deserves.

lol, did someone remake the short circuit movies. they would be impossible to beat.. =)

Jaguar is a complete remake, but yeah, he 'only added a few bits' :conf:
Subtle
If the remix is GREAT !! yeah.

If it is !! no no no

no it's not. PvD's remix owns it. In fact it is PvD's best remix.

"Way to expose the new generations to classics." off, really. Tell them to do some digging.

Stop trying to make your name more popular by having it associated with the classics, and actually start getting creative.
+99999999999 This should really be the end of this thread.

If you want to expose new generations to classics, then play the fuking classic as an encore or even in your set.

It's just a cheap [and lame] excuse to get their names out there.

It's nothing new, producers have been doing it for ages. But the recent abundant amount of classics being redone by producers is really getting ridiculous. They're not even "remixing" anything, just adding new, very small, elements.

Sebastien Leger - Jaguar
Lil' Mo' Yin Yang - Reach (Mark Knight Remix)
Plastikman – Spastik (Dubfire Rework)
Hybrid - Finished Symphony (Deadmau5 Remix)
Countless Sean Tyas productions...

pretty much all shameful, sebastien leger needs to the off especially, I sincerely hope he doesn't make a ing penny from jaguar
however, and I can't believe I'm saying this, I quite like the dubfire rework of spastik. Not that I'd buy it, or even ing consider playing it. I just love Spastik that much. So there.
