Im pretty sure they made more than that. You had to have 5000 produced in order rallye them. Its an homolegation car. |

The Sportquattro?
The minimum limit was 200, they made 13 'extras'.
As for the Quattro S1, only a few were made.. |

Homologation requirements are usually 500 cars, not 5000. Furthermore, for group b, it started at 400 and was later reduced to 200.

Since the S1 is just a trimline, they aren't required to homologate that. Just the platform itself.

Nah I was talking about the golf rallye. I got mixed up.
Ive only seen one sport quattro in the states. It was done by 2bennett in sacramento. They are like the old school audi guys on the west coast.

Well, as I specified better in the sentence after that, the hatches are where my love is at. And although I have liked the Polo for a while, it has never been, and more than likely never will be (well this is assuming they don't use the the Up! to resurrect the Polo namesake and sell it here in the US), sold in the US. :(
I am literally looking online for MKII GTI/Golfs in the US. Not having much luck. Looks like I am going to be hitting up vwvortex to get it when I can get one. |
