this case is going to rematerialize at the federal level. oliver should've gone down.
the 3 cops didn't follow procedure by calling in uniformed officers because they wanted (what they thought was) a prized gun collar for themselves and once again an unarmed black guy ended up full of holes. |

| This boggles my mind, 50 shots fired between 3 officers wtf! We live in a sad world. I guess the strip club was a bad option... |

Myabe it was since he was out at 4am with proven criminals at a known drug bar (undercover cops at the ing place)that has a huge rep for guns, prostitution, etc. It was more then just a strip club
Here is some background on Bell's buddys
Joseph Guzman - Bell's buddy was shot 16 times and survived. Since then, Guzman, 32, has undergone painful rehab and gotten engaged to longtime companion Ebony Browning, the mother of his two children. A sometime construction worker, Guzman's record includes nine arrests for drug offenses and a conviction for armed robbery which was overturned. Guzman is being kept afloat by $10,000 from Al Sharpton's National Action Network. He has sued the city for $5 million.
Trent Benefield - Badly wounded in the Bell shooting, the 24-year-old Benefield was arrested a year later for beating his teenage girlfriend Nyla Page Walthrus. She is the mother of Benefield's 16-month-old son. He, too, has been surviving on money from Sharpton and is suing the city for $5 million. Benefield's rap sheet includes a gunpoint robbery in 2002 and a drug bust in 2004.

their background is irrelevant. the cops didn't know anything about who they were when they opened fire.
[and even your blurb reveals nothing but petty drug offenses since the robbery busts were either overturned or didn't stick. and if background is important, how about the cabbie whose head was put through a windshield courtesy of michael oliver, a case the city settled for 10k].

and they were out at 4am 'cause it was a bachelor party. the club itself has indeed been cited for prostitution (not guns) but then again so have scores east and west. it's doubtful that scores' patrons are ever at risk of getting shot up. |

They were overheard talking about "yo get your gun" in the strip joint... I woulda shot them up at that point, but that's why I'm not a cop... All a bunch of low-life losers, no matter how you view it. The cops ed up, but I woulda done the same in that situation. |

| Sharpton does harm to African-Americans when he makes them out to be victims all the time, and put people like this on a martyrdom pedestal. His Al Sharpton National Action Network should be putting kids in college and rehabbing former crack addicts, if he really was concerned for the cause of African-Americans. |

that's why the approach outside the club should have been done by uniformed officers, not undercovers whom the defendants had likely seen inside kahlua all night. but like i said in my first post, multiple procedures weren't followed because gun possession arrests are highly prized.
reckless endangerment should have been the verdict. |

| I think maybe 5 shots could have done the trick idk I could be wrong and yeah im pretty sure prostituation is linked with almost every strip club on the planet and drugs...well drugs and strip clubs also a no brainer. Do you have to keep reloading to fire off 30 some odd shots? |

hrms @ the verdict. i didnt even have to open this thread and I could have guessed it was gona happen...
I dont see the point of firing multiple shots like that, its almost like they got too trigger-happy. Isn't the idea to injure the suspects so they cannot cause you further harm? Not to kill them? oh i dunno. theres probably many sides to this story that have not been uncovered yet (as always). |
