I have to say that Radio Slave was the most boring(not bad) set I've ever seen. He takes "minimal" to a new level. A 4/4 beat is just as entertaining. |
I saw him playing at the Terrace of Space in Ibiza. He did the warmup for Liebing. And I must say I agree upon this. His set was as minimal as it could get ... bleeps all the way. It was boring but still he was able to catch everyone's attention. And then he decided to play his remix of Moan, repetition all the way, but the place just exploded.
Considering the discussion on his tracks .. I'm playing quite a lot of his stuff lately. He is a master of repetition but most tracks are still able to keep my attention long enough. And if they don't, you just mix them out a bit earlier. Due to their repetitiveness they are often also a pleasure to mix. |

no. you just happen to like his music, thats all. so what if i make an offensive remark questioning him being genuine. |
No, because INDEPENDENT of whether or not I like Radio Slave, he's been DJing in clubs since 1992 and been a fixture in the UK scene and dance music in general since then. The guy has a history. He's paid his dues to get where he's at, so to say he must have sucked a lot of to get where he is is flat out wrong and an amazing display of total ignorance.
And saying Radio Slave is an unoriginal name for production whilst going under the forum guise "stevėsto" is ing comedy. :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: |

man you are one angry little guy. chill out. what you described is whats wrong with the dance world. there are so many djs out there that are permanently fixed as a resident someplace that have no business being up there. but they stay up there, boring the piss out of everyone and clearing dancefloors, because they "paid their dues", or they came out with a track that got heavy rotation. the fact that he's been doing this since 1992 is scary, what has he been doing wrong all these years i wonder? and yea i think my name is a helluva lot more interesting than radio slave, not as a dj name but a forum name. |

Radio Slave bored the piss out of no one when I saw him play in Miami and in LA last, in two separate clubs full of dancing folks. So really, again, you're talking out of your ing ass.
Also, angry? Not so much, but I am going to call you the out when you refuse to understand that your narrow POV is incorrect and factually wrong. :stongue: |

i saw him in miami, it was boring. theres other people in this thread that have already mentioned a similiar experience. how can my POV be factually incorrect? facts? what facts? this is a difference of opinion. im making an assumption his music has gotten exposure because of good marketing and promotion and, as you pointed out, because he's been in this since forever. |

The fact that you thought he was boring is your opinion, and a singular one, since the majority of the people there enjoyed themselves a lot. He managed to refill a thinning crowd at 5am by dropping a new tune him & his gf have made which is really good and unlike most of his other stuff.
As for the facts, I just posted them. He's been in it for years and is respected by his peers, and most folks in the industry, no dick sucking has gone down whatsoever. If anything he has folks trying to get on his jock all the time hoping for something in return. That is not my opinion, that is fact, I.E. what is actually going on IN THE WORLD, and not what is going on in the made up story of Radio Slave's success in your head. |
