Sorry man, I probably just worded it a bit too bluntly. I didn't mean to question you, I've just only skimmed the bulk of the reviews for the highlights and hadn't seen that mentioned much.

The HDD install is (as you pointed out) the obvious reason that makes sense.

But honestly, just go with the version your friends are buying as well, because of the multiplayer thingy.

I don't really have many local friends who've got 360's or PS3's, so for me it was the DLC and achievements were the breaking point.

I don't have a TV good enough to sort out the graphical difference between the two anyway. :(

Surely the only loading time will be when starting the game up and thats it.According to R* from what they have said there is hardly any loading times during play. :conf:

It's also between menu screens and cut scenes, but yes - in general there's just so supposed to be less loading.

u wouldn't think little things like loading times would be bothersome, but back when it was only xbox/ps2, I chipped my xbox and had a 300g HDD in it, and man what a difference playing off the HDD vs the dvd! My drive only got used to store the disc :p

Agreed, but I think that only really plays into things when you know the difference.

360 players who don't know any better likely won't be bothered by it, while PS3 players who go to friends houses or whatever to play the 360 version will likely abhor them.

I do think the PS3 is the console that will benefit most from GTA4's release.

This year is shaping up to be a good one for Sony - and at least MSoft has turned a profit two quarters in a row now, so it looks like everyone is going to be doing alright as far as gaming in 2008 regardless of their console choice.

GTA IV will help both consoles. But anyone that is in the loop of things and is buying a console now they will be getting a PS3. GT5 Prologue out recently and MGS 4 coming on June 12th, and also the PS3 has a better backlog of great games. Xbox 360 is empty big game release wise, with GTA IV being the biggest game probably for the rest of the Xbox 360's lifespan. PS3 has quite a bit more console moving big games ahead to enjoy alongside GTA IV.

Think about it PS3 owners have GT5 Prologue, GTA IV, MGS 4 within 2 months of eachother.

Wrong. COD4 was pirated on the 360 and still sold millions of copies. As have dozens of other million selling games on the PS2 in the past. Piracy isnt the PC's only problem, piracy on consoles hasnt stopped console games from reaching multi million sales status.

seriously, i am wondering whether youre baiting me or are genuinely intellectually challenged. why did cod4 sell millions of copies if it had been pirated do you think? do you think that console owners are just more honest than their PC counterparts? or do you think its just far far easier to get illegal content to run on a PC than a console? do you think that perhaps the fact that not every 360 owner has a modded console, that this might make a difference?

do you think the decades-old piracy of PC games might have come to a point where its really ing easy for just about anyone to play pirated software perhaps?

of course piracy hasnt stopped console games from reaching multi million sales status. piracy isn't nearly the problem it is on PCs, which is what i said originally.

but a nice non sequitur you tried there

Prologue is ing terrible, and if you really think this is going to be the biggest game in rest of the 360's life cycle you are even more deluded than I thought.

I'm not one to deny that things are shaping up to be a great year for Sony, but they still don't have the installed user base on the 360 - and truth be told, the tone alone of your posts rings so loudly with the echo of "fanboy" that you can't honestly think anyone here (or in MD) takes you seriously anymore.

FFS How retarded are you? None of your arguments hold any weight, which is what ill show you. The gamer demographic who is savy enough to pirate on the PC is savy enough to pirate on consoles.
Its not impossible to mod a console, there are websites and networks by the dozens to help, and people can do it on their own if they are a weeee bit nerdy. Actually its probably easier since pirated console games dont require any type of no cd cracking or patching to get things off the ground, there are more barriers in PC piracy than there are on console game piracy, so its more noob friendly. Another thing the average console owner is younger than the average PC gamer, so pirating games and modding consoles isnt looked at a unlawful or immoral angle, and done more freely. /ownage
