The gamer demographic who is savy enough to pirate on the PC is savy enough to pirate on consoles.
duh, of course. but the percentage of those capable of piracy that have PCs is far far higher than the percentage of people capable that own consoles.

Its not impossible to mod a console, there are websites and networks by the dozens to help, and people can do it on their own if they are a weeee bit nerdy. Actually its probably easier since pirated console games dont require any type of no cd cracking or patching to get things off the ground, there are more barriers in PC piracy than there are on console game piracy, so its more noob friendly.
yeah. tell that to all those xbox live players that got shut down for modded units
and yeah, taking your machine in to get modded is far easier than downloading a program. i mean, who the hell knows how to download something from the net? the mind boggles.
but here's my question (again) which you either didnt get or completely misunderstood - why are the console games selling multi million dollar copies if, as you say, piracy is so easy and rampant on consoles?

Another thing the average console owner is younger than the average PC gamer, so pirating games and modding consoles isnt looked at a unlawful or immoral angle, and done more freely.
as above.

Good job at blowing off facts and spinning again. Fail.
At the moment PC platform's savior is piracy. No one would be playing games on a PC if there wasnt piracy, so again piracy is not whats killing the PC platform, its the lack of compelling reasons to buy PC games, even if there was no piracy. Console gamers enjoy comfort, on screen multiplayer, being able to trade games and share games with eachother, having get togethers, controllers, the best genres of gaming, collecting great games...there is a strong culture behind console gaming. Everyting is simply better for the console gamer, the PC gaming experience is not as compelling for gamers to invest into outside the few who like to blow money on a rig to make themselves feel better, and then download games to recoup costs. Games dont sell on PC for a multitude of reasons, which you choose to ignore and blame on piracy and continue to fail.

It really amazes me how many people think that just because they say someone is ignoring the facts or spinning the truth, that the person is actually doing so.
Come the off it.

The PC Play magazine has released an English version of an interview it did with Cevat Yerli, president of the German Studio Crytek, which is well known for developing Crysis. In the interview they discuss the success and failures of Crysis, but more importantly the state of the PC gaming industry.
Yerli was asked about the risk of going PC exclusive with a high-profile title, and replied with: “It is certainly. We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis. We seem to lead the charts in piracy by a large margin, a chart leading that is not desirable. I believe that’s the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy. To the degree PC Gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform. Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more. It was a big lesson for us and I believe we wont have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future. We are going to support PC, but not exclusive anymore.”
OUCH. PC fanboys? The only exclusive PC FPS developer now is a console fanboy joining Epic/Valve/Infinity Ward on the fast moving console train. Any comment/spin?
