as for skybar, i agree with you. its a patio. its not meant to be an "underground" venue. patios bring out all sorts of people.

so why makes you think the main room and gallery has a more "underground" crowd? is it because they arent dressed as nice and show up to a club with ketchup stains on their clothes and pass out on the floor? if i told you that many people in the drink were also regulars at cz, would that make the drink more "underground"? its obvious that you dont spend enough time in the drink to make a proper judgement.

Started goin to the Guv about 9 years ago..used to frequent it when it was RPM....Sunday nights at RPM..when we actually used to "battle" on the dance floor..ya, people actually did that ...I spent new year's eve 1999 stage left, and brought in the new millenium at the guv...I know a thing or two about the venue dude..no disrespect..

I've also been in the scene from a young age...started at all ages parties.., rmp, inner city, bassmint, crush, club focus..then, factory, industry...etc.. actual warehouse parties that were truly "underground" and countless raves..when we had them.. so, please don't insult me or try to punk me off on here as if I'm some ignorant poser tryin to make a statement...I've lived and breathed this scene for many, many years..

The presence of some sick tunes and a bunch of CZ regulars does not make a venue "underground" Don't ge me wrong..one of my favourite all time nights was spent in the drink, watching erick morillo spin a sick set...at a labour of love..many years ago..I'm pretty sure it was way after 2 am when he dropped his last track..:tongue3

peace

i in hate having to post some sort of resume to back up my "judgement"..not my style....but sometimes it's frustrating to read some of the on here from people that have no clue what they're talking about....

So I was at the guv last night, the new smoking patio looks awesome. It's not done yet, but there is a lot more room and the bar in the middle just makes it better.

But the bottle service right in front of the DJ booth is a bit out of place. It's gonna suck :(

I also wouldn't consider CZ to be underground at all either.

quote of the century... (lol as if)

- Sorry for the CZ highjack -

The vibe, crowd and music are all UNDERGROUND. even the setting, it's in the darkest basement I've ever seen in my life. I can't believe I'm actually having to type this lol What else does a club take to be "underground"??

Just because you can recognize songs there (and ps. you're a major ing exception) that doesn't = mainstream.

yea ur talkin bout skybar rite.....straight up the dj booth should be where the bathrooms are and juss relocate the bathrooms to another part of skyb.....i know its a big job but they can afford it.....
also if they dont bother changing the speakers on the skybar then there better off leaving skybar alone....the sound is the biggest problem up there....no?......

the guv patio was not completed but you can get a general idea of how it will look.
the bar is now and island bar and can serve a lot more people as it is much bigger. there is more seating. it just looks a lot bigger now.
as for skybar, i dont think the dj booth will be relocated but it will be redesigned.

why dont you take a picture of it?

i think the dj booth would be wicked if it was right on top of the washrooms. i also think the reason why the dj booth is not in that spot because it is too close to the street and too much sound would fall on to the sidewalk on queens quay and it would be a noise violation.

lol

line ups for the women's bathroom are out of control up there.....I think if this happened the whole dance floor would be made up of girls waiting to go pee.....

No, I was referring to the patio by the main room.
