People need to quit bitching about gas prices. Stop spending on so much useless, expensive, over-priced bull (see: soccer moms in SUVs and Hummers, big-ass TVs you don't need, etc.). Also, go talk to Europeans about gas prices and they'll tell you to put a fork in it; they've been higher than us for a long time now. We've just managed to get lucky.

We've become so set on being able to spend money on useless bull that I see this as a good thing. People need to learn, and unfortunately it seems as though most people are going to need to learn the hard way.

Note: I'm not saying that the people in this thread spend on useless crap. :p

but you are right...this is how the average american behaves. it's obscene! :wtf:

i'm actually reading a good book about this topic of 'usless stuff' right now: http://www.amazon.com/Its-All-Too-M...g/dp/0743292642

when will people learn? when their pockets and credit abilities are empty, perhaps, which is sad.

Exactly. It's like a double-edged sword. It sucks for the economy and it might end up nailing us on food prices, but hey, people need to quit being so gluttonous. About ing time something slapped them in the face, in my opinion.
