Right. If his family *did* own a gas station, they would be making less money at $6/gal. Station owners' profit margin does not rise as the price of a barrel rises. They would make less because more people would ration gas in their cars or simply not be able to afford it. |

Your dream will come true (and be exceeded)once the dollar falls more and a barrel hits 200 bucks.
Gas going up isnt good for anyone. If you read into it, it actually lowers the middle/lower class and raises the top elite in this country even more.
So just because gas going up doesnt effect you as much, it hurts most of America and KILLS the people that need to drive a lot on a daily basis. |

good. it forces americans to finally look at gasoline for what it is: a limited resource. hopefully now low income families will think twice about buying used escalades on 24s and commuting 30 miles to work. live where you work, walk when you can, support public transit and get a street bike ftw. the more important issue at hand is the skyrocketing price of wheat and rice as a result of ethanol hype. |

AND ethanol isnt even good for the environment! many studies show it's not a cleaner fuel and even more overlooked is the absurdity of how corn is grown in this country. LOTS of oil and other environmentally taxing things go into the production of corn bushels. bush administration ftw. :rolleyes: |

from what i've read it's only slightly cleaner but it also contains less energy, effectively canceling out whatever benefit it had |
