this evening was my bday and it turned out quite likeable which is astonishing in itself considering I tend to hate birthdays in general.

Around 6ish pm met up with a friend downtown. We were walking around and about she even took me to mcd's ( oh sweet loveable blasphemy ), at one point we were approached by a lady who needed a light for her fag and we said " no smokie" to which she politely replied " McD's is better anyhow" ( I was expecting a comment opposite of that ).

Then at 7ish pm walking about town came upon a friend of ours whom we were supposed to get together with later, she was out on a date with this guy who chatted her up through multiple text messages.
Freaking wankah spoke too much and I am convinced he's a closet fag, and while he did get a out of the deal ( my friend had an abandonned kitty which she had been sheltering for a week while searching for a home ) he didn't get the sweet punany he might have been expecting for.

9is, went back to my place getting ready for the evening while my friend was being a bibibibibi-atch ( whom I adore ) photographing herself in the mirror in my bathroom, tripping on the fact it distorts your face ( crap mirror ). Then we went back to the other girls place, with the guy now at her place, it was obvious she was miserable.

Trying to explain the outcome of the evening my two female friends were half-mocking me at the idea that we were going to a minimal dub night in Basel. .... Finally left around 11.30-ish pm got there around midnight, half emptied a bottle of crap sparkly wine which made us want to puke.
At one point we were gathering stories of what brought us up to this point right there and then, at which stage I started discussing the fact a friend of mine who had bailed ( young kids to take care of, being exhausted etc ) ... I looked ahead of me and that bastard was right there. Yelled out his name and he came over, it was quite a funny/coincidential situation.... some of his friends had also convinced him to come.

Woot 12.30 am, inside the concert hall ready to blast it like maniacs, my birthday was so freaking on. In passing I pointed out the fact that the monthly events poster indicated that the evening was going to be minimal +dub ... that kinda shut up my friends.
Got the groove on till 4 am. The flow was tight, Tikiman from Rhythm and Sound was smooth, and all in all it was a great evening.
I even nicked 5 posters... not easy when you're half drunk/high and you're trying to pull the paper scotch tape off that holds the posters up ( a few were pretty tore up afterwards ).

I did insist on going for a brief walk by the Rhein river but the females didn't want to. Damn it, the river was only 3 minutes away and I so love it ... but when the says it's cold it means it's really cold and it needs to feel a bun in the oven.

c0r version : Tonight' 'twas some lovely night.

Yooooo! From one Taurus to Another, Happy B-Day Jdat!!!! :D Sounds like an interesting evening. I'm not big on b-days either... this year my woman decided to throw me a surprise bday party by saying that I should get home by 7:30 for dinner reservations. I totally didn't feel like going and told her straight up. She insisted. Ok. I showed up home at 6:15... right before all the guests had a chance to arrive. Kinda bummed her out but then we decided to do a reverse-surprise. Where I hide in the house, she gets the guests arranged by the door, waiting forme and then I jump out from inside the house and yell at them: "Surprise!!!!!" ... but it didn't quite work, as I was busted by few arriving guests, while moving my car out of sight. Anyway, wasn't a bad evening - got faced, told nasty jokes, got to sit in a Mercedes 550 (not drive it tho!) and then got to clean up after the guests until 2am. :(

But otherwise - wasn't a bad night.

Anywho... Congrats again, may you have everything you ever wanted and may authorities not come after you because of it. (old russian toast). :)

well we randomly came upon the back street of said bakery and noticed all this bread etc had been thrown away.
Some guy was serving himself ( even taking some super expensive fruit tarts etc ) so we did so ourselves ... as a matter of fact minutes before I noticed a little further down the street some boxes full of bread and a couple guys in suits were serving themselves and eating LOL.

the guy serving himself wasn't some filthy hobo and he told us they do this every tuesday and saturday evening.

yaaai for ing capitalism - we won't give it away in the open but you may help yourself to garbage. I think some channel ran a special on dumpster diving culture in NYC - bunch of college students would go around various parts of the city gathering food and then swapping it. Most were from very well to do families - it was more of a social statement and them just being ing wankers (imho). Anyway, sounds quite LOLtastic

they're called freegans

I think socially it's a very conscientious thing to do to dumpster dive, live in rent free squats ( vacant buildings ) and such.

I'm not poor and I don't need to go through other peoples thrash to eat but if it's there for the taking, it would be a shame not to.
