Yeah, but then why wouldn't he take it and use it? It doesn't make any sense... |
Oh man, Michael. You missed alot of the movie if you missed the Kamino part. It explained apart of the story. I would give you a full wrtie-up on what you missed, but we'd have some pissed off movies fans:whip:
So, I would say go see it again, or download it from the net somewhere. Sorry, man. Kamino explained alot of what Ben says.

Dude, check out her ass.

OMG, :eyes: I want some of that.
Looks like the chick from TE 2002 is coming down, and Natalie Portman is going up as my wallpaper. |

it was good.
Why?
1)It had Boba Fett
& 2)Chancellor Palpatine will soon become Emperor. He was always one of my personal heroes. I have a toy of the emperor sitting on my desk at work. All he wanted to do was bring a bit of order to the galaxy, and what thanks does he get. None.
Betrayed at the end, by the very man who owed him more than anyone. Darth Vader. |

saw star wars yesterday....i must say i saw it in german, and well that kind of tainted it for me, i am german, but i've been living in the states forever and i'm here in germany for the summer...but still when i saw yodas shadow i knew exactly what was coming....badass!!! i really want to see it again now! i would say i'm a pretty big fan of star wars, not that i dress up like them or anything or even wait hours in line to see the movie, but i've always liked them...i thought episode 1 was kinda crappy, but still a good movie....this one i was just really hoping wouldn't go like that, and i'm so glad it didn't :) when boba lifted his dads helmet (with the head inside??? :conf: :conf: :conf: ) i really thought he was going to put it on...lol....i really wanted anakin to have the two light sabers for a bit longer, that would have been so badass
but a lot of questions are still left unanswered, why boba's dad had the clone army made, and then they fought on the side of the republic? why the republic never knew about it? and then the clones fought on the side of the republic.....i dunno, maybe the clones will betray the republic in episode 3???? cuz in episode 4, the jedis, the rebels are all scattered....they don't have control at all, meaning they pretty much lost the war that'll occur in episode 3....i dunno, can't wait 3 years!! lol |

That's what I was wondering too, maybe if I saw the Kamino part it would make sense? |

Kamino Explained alot about who had created the army, how it was hidden, but not as to why. Maybe for Episode 3.
I got my copy of Star Wars from Direct Connect (www.neo-modus.com), try hubs : movieroom.evildc.com or snowman.evildc.com
Both are pretty good about having good copies of movies. I originally got my copy about a week before it came out. That and I got the SVCD of Spiderman. Star Wars was OK for a screener, but Spidey was pretty good for a SVCD. Try that, if not give me a shout and I'll find a pub I can throw it on.
Good Luck

all the australians will understand when i say, "episode II was NOT for australian eyes." all those aus/NZ actors pissed me off. boba's clone son couldn't act (like just about all of them) and he didn't even get rid of his accent.
Other than the crappy acting i thought it was a good movie, cheers |

What the...? You weren't paying attention. Here's what happens;
a)Senator Palpatine twists Queen Amidala's arm to declare a "no confidence" vote in Chancelor Velorum. (Episode I)
b)Chancelor Velorum is removed and Palpatine is nominated, then voted the new Supreme Chancellor. (Episode I)
c)Chancelor Palpatine manipulates Jar Jar Binks (sitting in for Senator Amidala in the Senate) and gets him to make a motion to declare a "State of Emergency". The Senate agreed and declared a State of Emergency -- Thus giving Senator Palpatine Absolute power to rule without the consent of the Senate. (Episode II)
d)Supreme Chancellor Palpatine becomes the "temporary" absolute ruler the Republic, and authorizes the use of a "republican army". (Episode II)
e)Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (aka Darth Sidious) gets his sith apprentice, Count Doku, to form a droid army. Palpatine's plan was to whipe out the Jedi which would remove all opposition to his future plans of Absolute rule. By starting a war against the droids, the republic would grow dependant on the clones -- which would give Palpatine the ability to rule. (Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious, was essentially controlling both armies) (Episdode II)
d)Palpatine declares the Republic to be an Empire, with himself as Emporer and brings Anikan Skywalker to the darkside (Darth Vader). (Episode III)
Basically, to answer your question, is that the droids didn't betray and fight against the Republic. The Republic just evolved into The Empire -- and the Empire controlled the clone army (StormTroopers). |

I liked it ALOT better than Episode 1, it was great. the Yoda fight scene was awesome, and Natalie was lookin' pretty damn hot. |

Did he authorize the use of that army on Kamino, or authorize creating a republic army? I thought it was the latter, but I may be wrong.

Ahh, that's what I was thinking but wasn't completely sure about. Thanks for clearing that up.
