Star Wars Episode 2..thoughts, reviews..first impressions? (pg. 7)

Palpatine's plan was to whipe out the Jedi which would remove all opposition to his future plans of Absolute rule. By starting a war against the droids, the republic would grow dependant on the clones -- which would give Palpatine the ability to rule. (Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious, was essentially controlling both armies) (Episdode II)
d)Palpatine declares the Republic to be an Empire, with himself as Emporer and brings Anikan Skywalker to the darkside (Darth Vader). (Episode III)
Basically, to answer your question, is that the droids didn't betray and fight against the Republic. The Republic just evolved into The Empire -- and the Empire controlled the clone army (StormTroopers). |
Exactly. It's all part of his master plan. What pisses me off, is when at the end of the movie Mace and Yoda are talking, and they say that it's impossible that a Sith has infiltrated the Senate...and you just feel like screaming out to them, saying it's Palpatine :whip: :whip: :whip:
Michael Russo: The Kamino part is quite vital to the story...I say check out the movie again, in the theatre during the day, on matinee hours. Not only do you miss the revelations from Kamino, but also a few nice scenes with Natalie, if I remember correctly...lol, she's got such a gorgeous smile...also, isn't the part with Anakin's mother dying during the Kamino scene's...so yaeh, you'll see the first signs of Anakin succumbing to the dark side. |

Hahaha, I didn't miss the part on Tatooine or the parts with Natalie... I saw when Obi Wan arrived and that droid thing told him they were beginning to think they wouldn't come, and then the next thing I saw was the bounty hunter shooting at Obi Wan.
I thought about it some more and I'm still confused. If it was all part of Palpatine's plan to give the droid army to the Jedis, why hide it away? It was a fluke that the Jedis discovered it... |

[SPOILER] Yeah, Obi-Wan found Kamino as a fluke. They ended up explaining that another Jedi Master (Darth SIdious) had paid and setup the clone army 10 years ago. Probably during the time that Eposide 1 ended and Palpatine took over the Senate, since they are the same persons. This also explains how the clone army is to become the Empire's Stormtroopers. Episode 3 will more then likely be based around Anakin being lured into the dark side by Papaltine/Sidious and the Clone Army fully taking over the Galaxy. [/SPOILER]
Sorry, if I gave alot of the story away, but it's mainly for Episode 3 anyways. And JayD, HELL YEAH! Star Wars kicks major ass!

Yea !!
I just saw it today And I thought the movie was pretty decent oberall. It was way better than Epsiode I.
It was good to see all the Jedi Knights in action druing that light sabre fest scene at the end. Yoda and Mace both kicked ass man !!
It was pretty unexpected to see Yoda whipping out his light sabre and spinning up in the air like some crazy animal!!
I thought it was good use of CGIs(computer generated graphics) for the action scenes.
The moive did drag on a bit during the middle but the scene with Anakin in Tatooine did a good job of building up the stoy line.
The action I reckon was a piece of crack. As everyone else pointed out before, bad dialogue and too much over acting from Anakin were the main bad points.
After reading the comments in this thread, I was pretty surprised to discover that the Supreme Chancellor and Darth Sidious are the same person. All I knew was that he was a badass and that he was going to become the Emporer in Episode 3.
One thing I thought which was pretty stupid was Bobba Fet picking up his own father's decapitated head. Why the hell would someone do that?? |

| I have a question now.. in the movie when Obi-wan went to Kamino.. didn't they tell him that Jango Fet had an exact duplicate of himself cloned.. I mean I know the clone army was a bunch of little Jagos and that their genetics were modified to not have independence.. but didn't they say he had a perfect clone of himself made also? And if so.. isn't it reasonable to think that he's not really dead and the jango that we saw die was in fact the other clone of himself? Something to think about..... |

1) I think the dialogue was to par with my standards. Episode I dialogue was much worse!
2) Go back and watch the original Star Wars trilogy -- nothing was said in this thread that shouldn't be known by everyone. The Palpatine/Sidious issue was exposed in the original 3 movies.
3) Forshadowing -- that's why he picked up his father's head.
On another issue, I would of liked to see Anikan kick the out of all the Tuskan raiders that held his mother captive. He went NUTS on their asses! |

bah, I'm more concerned with;
1) How Anikan will kick the out of Count Doku and take his rightful place at Darth Sidious' side.
2) How Anikan will lose his hair, get severly burned, get scarred up, converted to a machine, and lose his cabapility to breathe without a mask. How does Obi-Wan chop him up that badly and not kill him?
3) How the remaining Jedi (exept Yoda and Obi-Wan) will get killed.
4) Whether or not Jar Jar binks will get a lightsaber to the colon and die (one can only hope).
5) What happens to Amidala? How were Amidala's and Anikan's kids slit up?
6) etc. |

Lol, the perfect clone of himself is that little kid (Boba Fett)... When you clone something, it still has to grow up, it doesn't start off as an adult. That's why they were making a big deal about being able to speed up the growth process for the clone army, and it explains why the kid is so small compared to the rest of the clones.
USMC_Greg: that's what I'm looking forward to know... especially number 5 on your list... I hope natalie plays a big part in the movie, but I doubt it... |
