i see some bitterness in this thread. Maybe DJ bombtrack is not reaping the rewards of his own "hard work". Therefore he feels the need to lash out.

I'm not sure why electronic musicians are looked at as not being "real" musicians. Composing a good electronic song takes as much talent as any other genre.
To me writing electronic music is basically like composing a symphony. It doesn't really matter if it's a computer synth or a person playing the violin. Someone still has to decide what notes will be played and when.
I suppose you could compare it to being a "composer" but really, isn't a composer a type of musician? It's kind of like splitting hairs.
Joel is very talented, technically and musically. I don't think it really matters if he can pick up a guitar and strum or not. |

I'm not a big fan of deadmau5, but the man got where he is today for a reason. It takes a lot more than just hard work to be an internationally renowned Producer/DJ, and without talent, he would be playing local gigs in small clubs for peanuts.
He has contributed a lot to the EDM community, and he is representing Canada/Ontario/Toronto across the world.
You don't have to like him, but you should at least have a bit of respect.

okay. you got me. im not a real musician. im actually a 14 year old sea otter (which is quite uncommon as far as the lifespan of sea otters go).
Sydney Blu is actually a lesbian. she brings girls home, erm the otter den, every weekend where we engage in crazy 3 way otter secks until the wee hours of the morning.

i dont really get any negativity or random ass insults in my email... so it obviously cant be relevant, important, or contain any substance to it whatsoever... which is why it's a shame to see it on TA.

HEY! I wasnt saying that to insult or 'bash' anyone! as I mentioned in my post... I was just under that impression since I am pretty sure I read it in one of those free newspaper/magazine things (ie. scenester) that had an article about pride! |
