just did a test, firefox 3 does indeed seem to be far better than 2.

in opera and firefox i loaded the following:
download.com
ta
audiopioneers
youtube
2advanced.com (heavy flash)
beatport.com (flash)
google

opera was 73mb, firefox was 103mb. however, when i closed all the tabs so that just google was showing, firefox and opera were both 53mb.

seeing as opera looks/feels like , i have to say ff3 ftw!

Just dump ff2 for ff3 and then report back. Good day.

Am I the only Mac user that uses Camino? It's Firefox for Mac. Runs incredibly.

It isn't firefox for the mac. Camino is another mozilla based browser, just like netscape, firefox, and a long list of others too.

The other FAR more annoying problem is sometimes when watching videos on youtube it kind of crashes 2/3 of the way through and the loading bar jumps from where I'm up to and the end bit. Any ideas? I've just tried reinstalling flash player... hopefully that helps.

Does it "appear" to be fully loaded but you can't watch the whole video or just quit loading anymore? If so, I have had this problem a good amount lately with flash-based video players.

i miss the good ol' days of mosaic

hah man, my parents used to insist that scrolling down or clicking ANYTHING before a webpage had completely loaded was bad for the computer :p

No it doesn't quit loading anymore... the darker bar loads to that point... and when I get to it I get a jumping progress bar with the current minute/second jumping along with it. A reinstall of adobe flash player seems to have fixed this problem... at least for this video... it'll probably just happen again with 5% of them still anyway.
