Because you already admitted you were at fault there's nothing you can in court at this point (fighting tickets hardly works anyway). There should be a number on the front or back of the ticket telling you which courtroom to call. If you're lucky the officer already wrote the number of the court on there for you. Just call and they'll give you all the info. If you have the option to take traffic school, which you should have because this is your first offense, take it. It won't show up on your record and your insurance rates won't go up. It's a bit more expensive than just paying the ticket off but it's well worth it. Also see if you can just take traffic school online, much muuuch better than spending 8 hours in a classroom doing all. The price you end up paying is determined by a few factors: offense, age, and number of previous offenses.

If you have any questions PM me, I"m pretty well versed in traffic violations :p

Your car get fixed up yet?

Actually yes, they were finished pretty quickly once they got the parts in. I took it in last Monday and they were done by Thursday. It was actually pretty sweet, earlier this year I crashed into my gate on my way to work and it just so happened to be on the same side that guy hit me. So his body shop just replaced the whole bumper and left rear fender.

wow nice catch. you know police use verbal traps to get you to incriminate yourself.

Marginally better than here where they get some hotted up car they've confiscated or one of their regular unmarked wagons, then wind people up at the lights revving their engine... then if you are the kind of poor impulse sap that will try and race them, they'll fine you and probably confiscate your car.
All quite legally.

But ultimately, just deny everything.
For 'just driving fast fines' if they ask how fast you where going, you don't know but it was around the speed limit.
If they ask you why you don't know, tell them you where busy paying attention to the road conditions.
Anything else, just shrug and I dunno.

Worst comes to worst, start crying. They hate having to deal with that.

usually the info is all right there on the ticket and the officer explains everything and how to pay it or show up in court if you decide to fight it when they give it to you

Do i have to appear in court? or do i get any points on my lisence?

As a native Long Islander, I must say fighting a ticket not easy. Without a lawyer, you might as well just bite the bullet and consider this a lesson.

scan the ticket and post it here.

where in Nassau? I got one on Long Beach road in Island park doing 52 in a 40 but I was in the right lane and no cars behind me except for when the cop pulled out and pulled me over :whip:

All I did was went to court in Hempstead(municipal bldg area) and waited for my turn. The prosecutor lowered it to I think a red light ticket and less points. You can do that or fight it but in the end it cost me about 100 or so.

Get one of those PBA cards or know someone in the Police dept. If so it will help you. I won't say get you out of a ticket but it will help!

PS. don't get a DWI you'll end up on the wall of shame:wtf:

Thank u. Surprised so many of u are clueless on this. Theres attorney offices that do nothing but traffic violation defense and all u do is fax your ticket over, and u are done. You will get a letter saying u won and whether u have to pay court fees which are never more than the ticket itself, and the attorney fee is less than $100 in most cases. I have used them many times and usually end up paying a grand total of $90 for everything and the case always gets dismissed.
