Parking at Hempstead sucks!! Make sure you pay for parking, b/c the minute it goes over the meter, they will give you a ticket for that too. :rolleyes: |

| Hell that was wimp ticket I was caught speeding 100 MPH in 55 zone before I got pulled over and I got warning because I had Department of Defense and fire fighter tag and was driving to meet the wife who was going have our first kid when she called when I was at work. The DOD tag was god send a few times for me. Because after 5 years in the marines I got that tag/badge when I started to work for a civilian defense contractor. Every year I still get a tag and badge even if no longer work for that company. |

| hm i'm quite happy that going to court is hardly ever required when getting a speeding ticket in europe. then again we have cameras rather than patrol cars .. usually you get tickets here for driving 4 or 6km/h above the limit at least twice a year. it's another tax income for the gov. when I really want to push it i'll just drive an hour away to Germany and get it going at 120mph without any repercussions :D |

it really depends the district and on the law and officer. sometimes they pull you over and you get a warning (verbal + written - written is just like you were caught doing x in y and z will happen, be careful next time you are off with a warning ect) other times it's a fine. if there is no money amount on the ticket, consider yourself very lucky. it normally will say the fine amount, offense committed, a bunch of id info and some other .
now if its a warning, your gold. no points.
fine = points and that is dependent on how much you were over. insurance goes up as it is a moving violation.
a co-worker of mine who has like 8 tickets against him all for speeding gives me the advice "fight the ticket, ALWAYS" now i can't really speak here as ive never been this far so good luck.
this is all CDN law though and I just noticed you are in the US. |
A friend of mine got a ticket, and he says if you delay the court date 3 or 4 times the cop will most likely not show up when you finally do, forcing the court to throw the ticket out.
LOL!
I have only been pulled over once... and it was because I was "suspicious". LOL!! They just asked me what I was doing and where I was going. |
