I like tracks such as Vanox & Scandle - The Prime Suspect and Audioplacid - Enemy With No Face because they touch me, and the words from The Prime Suspect are actually very uplifting IMO.

why the would anyone want a tribute song? that inccident wants to be forgotten, not remind everyone how there families died everytime the ****** comes on the radio, which be quite alot as it would obviously go to no.1 in US

It's not that I wanted to be reminded about the taking of many innocent lives, it's the reminder that we will persevere as a nation, together to fight terrorism. Plus, I don't already go a day w/out hearing or reading something that says something relating to 9/11. It's a constant thing, like recently, the decisions on whether or not pilots should be able to be armed.
Now I'm sorry I even created this thread, sorry guys, this just got way out of hand. |

Agreed. There is plenty of emotional musik out there. I think Paul van Dyk showed everybody with his melancholy set days after the tragedy.
It would make me sick to hear Bush's voice over a track. If I wanted to hear a sample of a puppet, I would listen to the Muppets. |

I also agree about songs about what happened is stupid. I don't even wanna think about what happened that day, nevermind hear songs about it, or anything that would remind me of it.
I actually got very offended, mad, etc when I read some of the things people said. I dunno why people would even make fun about what happened, that's not cool. What if mad people in your town/city/country died, then someone from another country makes fun of it. Please put yourself in other people's shoes before you make fun, you guys really hurt my feelings. Now I could say about all those people that said those things, but I have class, and I'm not gonna be that low.

we Americans wanted nothing to do with Yugoslavia, but these Europeans were whining and begging us to bomb them to stop the second genocide or whatnot. After years of European goading we finally gave in. |

I stumbled across this thread searching for a track, and it's an interesting one.
I can't really see the whole appeal of masses of tribute songs, it's a bit pretentious if I may say so. To specifically designate a song to an event, a twisted and horrible event, is not a chivalrous thing to do in my opinion. If they truly meant it, they'd give all the money to charity perhaps? Afterall, it isn't really a 'donation' or a 'tribute' when you're making hard cash from it is it?
The constant reminders of September 11 are not something we have to do, they are political. The Bush administration actually specifically asked CNN to mention the September 11 attack after every report on it's war on terrorism. They are using the WTC attacks to rile up the American public, to get the public behind his war on terrorism. Bush is being written a blank cheque, to do whatever he wants, and he is loving it, espescially all the tribute songs and what-not.
I downloaded a track the other day called "Vanox & Scandle - Prime Suspect" and I almost puked. Come on this is just making money off the back of a tragedy, it's not even original. I even hear they are making a movie about September 11 - this soon after the attack! I can just see the script writers in Hollywood counting the dollars.
Anyway, others might disagree, but I find the whole concept a bit odd. I don't quite agree with it.
One more thing. Observe the following statements, I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but personally I find some of these a little disturbing...
