wow...i have been following this thread to see where it was going to end up...and it really hasn't gone anywhere. here is my take on all this...btw, sorry kinda long...had a lot on my mind...
1. 911 is not comical relief and anyone who thinks otherwise should think about how fortunate they are that they didn't lose anyone from the tragedy...cause if they did lose somebody, they would not make a joke of it. i think that's why some people are losing their wigs, but anyway look at it, laughing at the death of people is not cool.
2. the majority of americans do not want sympathy...but we want mostly the whole world to understand that what we went through was not cool. so, if you were in our shoes, i think you would expect the same amount of sensitivity from this tragedy.
3. we all will always have and hold different ideas and values on life, music, history, etc...but making threats and ignorant comments aren't helping things. in fact, some of the comments made here on this board only makes me realize that there are some crazy mf*****'s out there that will do anything to get their point across. let's not be hateful...it's not in trance's culture and we all at least agree on trance. |

im not going to attack as your person, but i want you to see it from my point of view when i read something as the stuff you wrote.
1. do you think it was cool for me/other ppl from yugoslavia and etc, when the US bombed yugoslavia for no reason some years back? =/
2. do you think it was cool for me last year when there were albanian rebels in macedonia, which were supplied with weapons and from the US...? =/
it wasnt so cool going through that either, but still the US continued what they were doing =(
hope youve realized that you(americans) arent the only one...

Noone said we are the only ones....but maybe your misunderstanding what happened on 9.11...THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of NON-MILITARY people in a NON-WAR time in America where brutally killed....for going to work.....if i am not mistaken when you say Yugoslavia they where going through war-time ...well that is in no way the same as 9.11...there is a difference...
it is 1 thing if a country is attacked during war, because it is expected...but when there is no war going on to be bombed for no reason is another thing..either way is TRAGIC but there is still a difference

again...we all are going to have different views even on history. i personally find it hard to believe that the u.s. would bomb yugoslavia for absolutely no reason at all besides killing random innocent people. but i really don't want to get into that...and to answer your question, no it's not cool when anyone dies...soldiers, but even more with innocent civilians. and of course i know that tragedies happen everywhere, everyday outside of the u.s. but i am sensitive when people do die for example i don't make jokes regarding israelis and palestinians, princess diana, the thousands of jewish people in the holocaust, etc. i know americans aren't the only ones that go through tragedies. it's not cool when people die. but i don't joke and laugh about it either.
greetz to you as well :gsmile: |

Hm.
If you were such a patriotic Macedonian you could have stayed in your Macedonia. However, you moved to Norway. |

scared the out of me too...
i was on South Broadway and Canal when it happened walking to my brothers office......
i didnt see the first plane (which my friend was in who lived in Boston) but i heard the 2nd plane then the boom...me and this girl i was with , who was walking with me, didnt know what the hell was going on...
right after it happened we walked Canal to the West Side Highway and could see the burning towers....bro my stomach sank...i wanted to cry...i thought the world was coming to an end...we started walking down the West Side highway but we stopped and jus watched...
then out of NOWHERE that tower jus collapsed...the girl i was with broke down in tears and began to have an anxiety attack...i just hugged her and couldnt beleive what i was seeing....
after the 1st tower collapsed we started walking uptown because we wanted to get out of the city...but it was packed on the West Side and we couldnt get a cab...so we jus walked all the way up to 46th Street near the Sound Factory and just chilled out for awhile...
i will never forget that day....:( |

| Well it was bad enough watching it on the tv. it didnt seem real, every time i hear anything about it, the tv footage runs through my head again. I hope i never see something like that again. It really was the worst thing i have ever seen, and something that will never leave me. It effect everyone in the world. :) |

Verminator was right, the Amercian Government did supply the Albanians, and they did bomb yugoslavia (something the UK was also a part of, and something which I feel deeply sorry about),they also supply the Israeli army with weapons and the means in which to deliver them, but many euorpean countries supply unjust causes with arms, so it's unfair to single out america.
Sept 11th was a terrible day, and I will never forget it, watching the images on television was one of the most harrowing experiences of my life, and I cannot begin to imagine what it was like to be anywhere near it.
What Ste said was silly, but I can assure you he meant no disrespect for the people who lost there lives, or the familys of people who lost loved ones.
anyway back to the topic at hand, there seems to be a fair few Sarah Mclachlan tunes on AG which have wtc implications, 'angel' is one that springs to mind, heavenly :) |
