prepare your raveclogs!

...not that I do because I rarely come out for shows.

But I sometimes do! And that's um, neat!

So basically, anything that I am qualified for that will allow me to make a decent living will make me happy. It would also be nice if I could walk/take Marta to work.

There are plenty of universities in town. I myself go to Georgia State (downtown), and there is also Georgia Tech just down the street from you. Not to mention Emory, and the other ridiculous amounts of schools we have (can't recall them all). Those will all be reachable by foot or MARTA.

Welcome :) Feel free to ask non-EDM related stuff here too. I moved from NYC 8 years ago.

Thanks for the reply Calamar, Ted Promo, and Scottaculous. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Hence, I'd hold off on making any Midcity plans this Sunday until further notice, since the cafe's typically closed on Sunday?

I'm sorry to hear that there may not be anymore Sunday nights at Midcity Cafe. Sounded like a good time and I was looking forward to checking it out.

Sam - I did get a phone call from GSU regarding a Financial Aid Counselor position. However, I called the woman back to schedule an interview but I could never reach her. I left her a message and she never called back. :conf: I would like working for a university (GSU, Georgia Tech, Emory, etc.) but I don't think I want to be a Financial Aid Counselor anymore. It sucks and the pay is rubbish. However, my girlfriend will be teaching at GSU starting Fall Semester. Yes, that's right; you may have a tranceaddict professor.

That's funny. When I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago looking for a place to live I rode the Marta just to see what it was like. It was dirty and a little scary. I had some crazy militant dude sitting behind me yelling and cussing about all kinds of nonsense. However, it beats driving, gas prices, and sitting in traffic. I really hope Atlanta works to improve public transportation as the city continues to grow.

We'll be in Atlanta Thursday and I need to get electricity, gas, water, cable/internet, etc. I'm assuming the electricity is through Georgia Power. However, I've heard that there are a few options for gas & cable/internet. Can anyone recommend which companies I should use for these utilities? A good cable/internet/gas provider? Any help is appreciated.

Looks like a good lineup -
July 11th - BT @ Swerve
July 18th - Dave Dresden @ Swerve
July 25th - Christopher Lawrence @ Swerve
July 31st - George Acosta @ Opera
August 1st - Anthony Attalla @ Swerve
August 8th - Deadmau5 @ Swerve

I'm definitely going to try to make it out for Dave Dresden & Deadmau5, I haven't seen either before. Maybe I can meet some of you then. Thanks...

lulz, it was much, muuuuch worse during the Olympics. Imagine the same people kinda dotted here and there in the trains, but then the rest of the cars were CRAMMED with sweaty honkies and tourists while you try to find an air pocket.

Mind you, I was like 10 or 11 at the time.

Welcome to Atlanta :D

Welcome! You might not see me out much since I live about an hour away but I figured I'd say howdy anyway. I'm sure we'll run into each other at one point. Good luck finding a job!
