Your options are very limited with cable and internet. For internet, you can get AT&T DSL or Comcast. For cable, you got Comcast. Both places has terrible customer service. You might as well get Comcast because they offer a deal to get both cable and internet. Look for new customer deals from them that offer six months for cheap.

Thanks for the info. We went with Gas South for gas and I'll look into Comcast when I get there. That is a good deal that they offer for 6 months.

I've never had a cable/interent provider that offered good customer service. I don't think they exist.

Deal here:
Comcast

You might want to see if DirectPath services your building. That company only serves the midtown/downtown area where there is an infrastructure that caters primarily to the commercial market. In so many words, you get a commercial-grade connection at consumer prices. I've used them ever since moving to midtown and I have so much bandwidth that I'm almost not sure what to do with it all. (almost) They also offer IPTV.

Sweet! I'll look into that. Thank you.

DiscoStew,
I'm having a hard time finding any info. on that DirectPath internet service. Would you happen to have a link or phone #? Thanks again for your help.

Welcome to Atlanta, I've lived in or near it all my life.

... I might actually be moving to Cincinnati, though, so I might bug you for advice later ;)

Nice to meet you and thanks for the reply. Let me know if you're moving to Cincinnati, I'd be happy to help. I used to live in a great building downtown that was close to some cool restaurants/bars, and my rent was only $425/month (1 bedroom/1 bathroom). I really liked it there. However, the electronic music/trance scene is horrible. No DJs come to Cincinnati. I had to drive to Columbus everytime I wanted to see a DJ.

welcome to atlanta anthony! my name is javier and i too live in midtown. you chose a great area to live in... lots of great restaurants/lounges and good music too. you can pretty much find anything to do on any day of the week if you wanted to. i read your post about finding something to do on a sunday and just thought i'd let you know about the parties a group of guys called Diagnostik throws every sunday at Front Page News (a restaurant on Crescent Ave in Midtown with an awesome outside patio). it's always a good time and every sunday they have different local DJs who spin some good house music. check it out some time and i'm sure we'll be meeting some time in the future at a show.

Nice to meet you Javier. Diagnostik Sundays sounds like a good time. Nice outside patio, some good tunes, and a few drinks = heaven. I'll be there, maybe this Sunday. Thanks.
