Most of us are disillusioned teenagers? Speak for yourself... the people here are diverse and from a lot of different age groups... the only accurate general statement you can make that will hold true for all of us is that we all love trance music. |
Yeah, most teenagers are disillusioned. Especially ones who listen to eminem (but there are exceptions).

If Eminem was only popular because of the controversial content of his lyrics, there wouldn't be any rap music fans. |
Hahaha... are u serious? Do you know what you're saying?

Like I said earlier, if you can't appreciate rap music, don't jump to the conclusion that he has no talent or is just a product of pop culture. |
Everyone has different tastes, but I appreciate a wide variety of different music. His music has no depth... people seem to think he's the next mozart or something? please...
And yeah, he is just a product of pop culture... Maybe if he got rid of his image and started thinking about music he'd make some good songs. |

did i say that eminem produces diverse music? no. i said that we all should respect the diversity of MUSIC. eminem just like pvd and tisto make up that diversity by producing/making different kinds of music. and if music wasn't that different than we'd all be listening to bsb, britney and ja rule right now (now thats a scary thought) |

You're not getting my point. People don't listen to rap music because the lyrics are controversial, they listen to it because they appreciate rap music.

Are there other rappers out there whose music you think has more depth than his? I never said he was the greatest rap artist to ever live, but he has a lot of talent. Image and media aside, he is a very talented rap artist. |

I'd like to believe that, but I don't. You obviously appreciate it, but 99% of the people that do listen to it don't. |

I wonder how many flaming PMs I would get if I set my status to emineMaddict ...
Judging from the responses in this thread, way too many. Honestly, let people have their own opinions on musical tastes and don't yell at them for it. Furthermore, think about what percentage of the population listens to trance, and how many people criticize it. How do you respond when someone says something ignorant like 'Oh, more stupid techno music' or something similar. Just think about that before you go telling people they suck and have bad taste in music because they like rap/hip-hop/etc... Granted, this isn't raPaddict.com or anything, but try to have somewhat of an open mind and grant people their right to opinion without criticizing it. |

But why else would they listen to it if they didn't appreciate it?
Keep in mind I'm not talking about Eminem only, but all rap music. |

I agree with Webmeister. The guy's got serious talent but has no integrity. He's awesome with his rhyming skills but got no soul. The only rapper that deserves taking the and dishing it back is Tupac. Why? It's real-life. He was caught in two violent shootings. He survived the first but the second was fatal. I respect this guy very much for the amount of BS he had to deal with the media and the violence in his short career.
I see emmy can be a positve role-model for the kids but he's wasting his chances. Hopefully, one day he'll wake up to reality and realize what a door-knob he was for selling out. |

| His album songs are anywhere from above average to horrible, but he can freestyle with the best of 'em. The "techno" comment doesn't bother me at all. I'm almost positive he knows nothing about the entire genre and just needed something to bash Moby about. Cause let's face it Moby can be way too uptight. |
