nope, because the plan works for all smartphones that are on Rogers.
Apparently the only 'haggling' you might have to do is if you have a grey market phone and want the plan...but they apparently suppose to allow grey market phones to work on the plan.

They need to make their web page more understandable.
I asked at the Rogers kiosk and people can get any voice plan and then add the $30 6GB data. Rogers/Fido would want to tack on the SAF. And then get you to pay for extras like caller ID etc - that stuff is way too expensive so I want it free.
Right now I pay Fido $25 for 100 minutes anytime, 1000 evenings/wknd, unlimited incoming, plus $7 SAF plus tax, total $37, great plan for me, I use total 2000 minutes a month (lots of incoming or I ask ppl to call me back if primetime). If I could get that plus the 6 GB data plus caller ID, visual voicemail stuff, few other extras for total $60 - $70 that would be OK. 2 year contract would be good but they probably won't do that.
Although I'm in a city of only 75,000 there were at least 2 places very busy selling iPhone yesterday, kinda surprising. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. |

No text included?
Damn, how do you live (cellphone-wise) w/o texting! I couldnt.
J'ai besoin de les deux! I need both.
My plan is for $35 (plus SAF + tax) a month from Solo is:
150 anytime mins, 150 long-distance mins, unlimited evenings/wkend (5pm-8am), unlimited incoming, 1,000 text, call display, call waiting, call forwarding, 3way calling. all on a month-to-month contract (no long-term contract at all!) |

Solo Mobile is the provider. Owned by Bell (note: different company though, Bell merely is the parent company, AFAIK. customer service w/ solo is nothing short of incredible IMO)
No, not GSM. CDMA.
And dont know about data plans. They only have one smart phone, and thats the Moto Q. They are a discount provider essentially, just started out a couple years ago. Have a limited phone line (less than 10, so you obviously mu5t NOT be picky if ur going w/ them) They cant compete w/ Rogers or Bell for shere number of phone offerings. But theyre plans are the fairest and cheapest ive ever seen for what you get! (and no contract! not even on their best plans... rogers usually likea to make u sign a 3year contract to get their top-rate plans i find! :whip: ) |

I need to start shopping around for a good contract with my cell
I've been on pay as you go since I moved here because I always had a land line to rely during the day/night, but I'm moving soon, and the new place doesn't have a land line
any suggestions? I need something good in terms of evening/weekend minutes, and txt messages.. is there any good promotions at Fido/Rogers atm? |
