I've watched all episodes 3 times. :toothless Including this movie.
What I like about sg-1 is the humor. MacGyver is funny as hell. I don't even try to compare it with BSG for instance. It something completely different imo.
I still love both. :D |

Yes. Yes he is.
Jack O'Neill, however, is not.
Although I lol'd pretty hard in one of the first few episodes, where someone asked if he could 'Macguyver his way out' of a situation. |

| my grade 2 novel 'attack of the giant lizards' was better scifi than anything stargate ever did. |

| Oh come on that's a bit harsh. I will admit that its not not the best scifi series out there, but when you need to be entertained for 40 minutes its quite good. I watched every episode oF SG1 and Atlantis 8and am anticipating the new spinoff). Sure Teal'c is boring, and Carters technobabble gets annoying 15 minutes into the first episode but jack and daniel are awesome, and its worth watching just for that. |

I think Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis are quality :D
I have been a massive fan of them since they began, yeah the last few series of SG-1 sucked balls compared to the rest, but season 2-6 were just brilliant.
Atlantis wasnt fantastic in their 1st season, but it started picking in season 2.
With regards to the films, the ark of truth and continuum, i have seen both and i can officially say the ark of truth sucks bigger balls than the last couple of SG-1 series. continuum on the other hand was enjoyable.
While on the subject i think ill show my appreciation for Richard Dean Anderson, he MADE this series, O'Niel is definatly one of my favourite characters to ever appear in sci-fi and Richard Dean Anderson nails it.
SG-1 started to suck balls when they introduced the Ori storyline. never the less, i still consider this the best Sci-Fi series that has come into existence, along with a couple of others :p |

Ok, fair enough. Based on that comment, I would be interested to know what your other favourite Science Fiction characters are - Any series you like. |

Well purely sticking to TV series, off the top of my head and in no particular order;
"Q"- Star Trek
"Mulder" - X-Files
"Lieutenant Starbuck" - Battlestar Galactica (The Original Series)
"Jean-Luc Picard" - Star Trek TNG
"Arnold Rimmer" - Red Dwarf
"Dave Lister" - Red Dwarf
"Gaius Baltar" - Battlestar Galactica (New One)
"Bender" - Futurama (its still sci fi:p )
"Crypt Keeper" - Tales from the Crypt (fantasy, but still loved him when i was a kid)
"Al" - Quantum Leap
That should do it for now, i might edit it later though lol.
let the geek bashing begin!
What are your favourites? ;) |
