Oh this WAS yours, I thought it was Jared's :o
Those rims are great, and that's the generation that made me want a GTI. |
Ya the wheels are ing impossible to find but it was worth the hunt. I got them right when they were discontinued. Last set out of germany. Prized wheels for that body/years of VW. I had someone offer $4k for the set.:eyespop: |

They really aren't. The fact that they cost more, they actually produce torque (something all the stupid fast and the furious crowd cares nothing for, they just want a gutless wonder [read: honda] that they can spend $30 on a new exhaust and intake for that still doesn't make it faster), they are more refined, have better engineering, technology, and build quality, they are more suited for people with a much better taste in cars. |

No I have no doubt they are powerful, fun cars, but they just lack sophistication that’s all. |

I don't see how, but that is all personal preference really. |

I just don't remember 17-inch wheels on a GTI being a very popular rap theme.
And I really don't see how his GTI is riced out or "unsophisticated" either. It's a clean look on a sporty hatchback :conf: Volkswagen is obviously doing something right seeing as how they own both Lamborghini and Audi. |

Hardly. They werent even in the F&F movies. Its actually a pretty useful car. Ive moved 3 times with it and it can hold a fair amout of stuff. Easy to park, plenty of pep, easy on gas, really nice leather interior. Ive never had the need/want of a big car. Its only "juvenile" in the US. Plenty of people over 18 in europe drive cars similar to a GTi without worrying about being a "boy racer". Maybe you are looking at it as some kind of status symbol? |
