Not unlike most of the Intelligent Design "controversy".
Here in Brazil, at least, it seems to be restricted to a few evangelicals who denial pretty much everything. As a matter of fact, it reminds me of a girl who said the sea level wouldn't rise because God had promised not to use water to destroy the world ever again :p |

Yes, but because of the astronomical levels of CO2 in the atmosphere it has been absorbing far more than usual, which is changing the PH of the oceans and having disastrous effects.

Okay... but the rising temperature alone is a big enough problem in itself. Also, as the oceans get warmer, theyre going to start absorbing less co2. The solubility of co2 in water decreases as temperature increases. There's a lot of assumptions made in that statement, which I understand, but all in all my point is that the oceans are not well understood. At least not as well as the atmosphere. We honestly dont know how the marine system is going to respond to this kind of carbon concentration. |

Read the article, it is quite good. And we don't want the oceans getting warmer or absorbing more CO2. |

The best part is I never once in this debate argued any kind of doomsday fad. I'm not even concerned about global warming. I'm concerned about protecting the environment, conservation, reducing waste and reducing pollution. |
