Yeah and? Why aren't you talking to Jake and Bas?
|
I don't think I've ever seen Jake say anything like that. He's probably the most level-headed person on this board, and I've always trusted his reviews because of that. Adam (nefardec) as well, but to a lesser extent.
As for Bas, look again.

I think Dubfire's music is largely . Thats my opinion. I have strong opinions on dance music given how passionate I am about it and the fact that I'm a DJ. I dunno why whenever I post these opinions I'm being a complete **** whereas everyone else can do it and no one cares. Does my opinion matter more for some reason?
|
I do care when other people do it. You're just one of the people that will argue to the hilt that he's not doing it. That bothers me. And again, being passionate doesn't really warrant talking.

I disagree with my friends on music all the time but I don't start making bull, completely baseless personal attacks like senor Bruce here. Some of my closest friends think certain tracks I play suck...and my response is usually "I like it". Because that matters more to me than what other people think. |
Good. That means you are as passionate as you say. :)

As far as saying only "this is " or "total crap" in posts, I've been making a serious effort to shy away from this kind of post and if I am being harsh, back up my opinion with reasons why so that people can see where I'm coming from. I think I've been doing better at that lately but I guess not. |
Again, awesome. That's what I'm lobbying for.:)

By and large I do, but I think TA would be pretty if every thread here only had replies like "THIS IS AWESOME" |
Agreed, but as I said before, there are other, less demeaning ways to express that a track doesn't fit your preferences. If you're so passionate, why constantly talk down about producers that work their asses of with techniques far more complicated than you'll ever learn? |

why don't you just learn to trust your own reviews of the product and stop crying.
if you like it, who cares what others think.
this is is the same as this is awesome. |

| I don't care about anyone else's reviews. I do care about people saying other people are because they don't like their music. That just makes no sense whatsoever. |

| But there would be mass confusion, which there already is since people can't distinguish between opinion and fact. I know you guys did well writing papers in school. Please express objectivity and subjectivity correctly so a lot of people can save a headache or two. :p |

i don't think anyone posts anything other than opinions.
the only fact is that you are a thick twat. [1]

In this thread. Jake's only post.

What? Your criticism of bas was not nearly like the I'm catching from several people for the same (if not lesser) offense.

It warrants opinions. My opinion is that Dubfire has little creativity or soul. I'm also of the opinion that deadmau5 is total . He is the antithesis of what I love in dance music and represents pretty much everything I am against. Thats how I feel and that is best expressed by "He is ".

Why am I never going to learn advanced production techniques? What kind of stupid ass statement is that? And a newsflash for you, complicated production techniques != good tracks. They help, good ideas make good tracks. And thats what is lacking here. |

I think because somehow you nearly always make it feel like you're trying to enforce your opinion on others, even though that might not be the case. Maybe because they are so strong, maybe it's because of your tone of voice/style of writing, or maybe both? And perhaps because, after a fair amount of discussing and debating, you have the tendency to start nitpicking and analyzing every single counterpost anyone makes, replying with an overload of quotes trying to clarify every single nuance and tiny detail. That's just pointless semantics most of the time, probably valuable for you to get your point across, but for the majority of posters (I assume) it often feels like you just can't let go and turn into this little prick that needs to win the debate and have the last word, whatever it takes. After a while, people always read your posts within that frame and mindset, and I guess that makes them even easier offended, even if the posts are relatively harmless.
I mean no offence of course, this is just an observation and my explanation as to why people might be more offended by your posts than by other people's posts with the same message or content. :) |
