from chino to SD... that's about a 1.5 hour drive.... 5.8 in chino... if vegas felt it at a 3.5 hour drive... the quake must have been atleast a 14.0+ for vegas to feel it....
which means... absolute disaster and casualties we would have heard about.
wow a 14.0+... now that would be scary. |
lol, are your calculations meant to be taken seriously? if so, you have *quite* a bit of Geology classes to catch up on. :p |

well I heard they're calling this quake a foreshock and not an aftershock. :nervous: |

that only happens 5% of the time. if it does happen though, my house is toast, because of the proximity and increase in size. I'm hoping this turns out to be 19 of the 20 times though. :) |

I was outside when it happened..that was an interesting feeling. I only felt the ground shake for about 6 seconds, but looked back at the 3 story office building that I work in and saw it swaying back and forth (it's on rollers).
Friend that lives in Chino Hills..balcony detatched from his house, and all mirrors in the house cracked. |

5.4. It was also pretty deep. Northridge was much closer to the surface and instead of a rolling motion it was more up and down. Felt bigger than it was. One thing I remember well was how loud it was. Very scary quake. 6.8. And to think if it hit a 7.0 the government would haved flipped the bill for the repairs. Still make s me wonder a bit. |

| I was at Target... some stuff shook off the shelves but nothing major. Lots of people running to get outside but that's it. I heard on the radio today that we WILL have a 7.9-8.1 earthquake in the next decade. They never said "if," they said that we will and we will not be prepared. The guy said that we will not be able to get help for up to 3-4 days. He said that it is definite and it will be bigger than anyone can prepare for. :( Today was nothing. |
