How come London is the birthplace of so many talented artists? Is it something in the water?!

Probably simply because it has over seven million people. When you have that many people in one place, there are bound to be great artists somewhere in there.

It reminds me of that thread about cities in the CORe... but, seriously, this is getting ridiculous: I thought at least this guy was from, I don't know, Sweden :p

It's even bigger than that. The metropolitan area of London has at least 12 million people in it, and when those people want to, say, get the music they've made heard, they'll go inwards to the actual city. Throw in the fact that London is a cultural and commercial hub with a two thousand year history and a multicultural, post-colonial populace and you have all the ingredients for a creative hot spot.

But yeah, music is one of UK's best exports.
It has the greatest number of talented artists by far.

i think its because the british are so gosh darn ugly. americans often wonder about the brits with great perplexity "how do they actually reproduce? in the dark?". so because everyone is so unattractive with nasty teeth and everything, it makes them forelorn, and they make forelorn music like burial. its also an evolutionary phenomenon, in order for the species to survive, they need to make really good music to get people to reproduce.

1. he said gosh
2. nobody sane has ėsto in their username ever
3. he's american, and from florida. We all know what goes on there, it makes the funny news every week :toothless

Don't want to create a new thread about it so I'll simply post in this one, since it's about Burial...

Bloc Party - Where Is Home? (Burial Remix)

This track is heavenly. Pure bliss, Burial style. Why haven't I heard it earlier?
