i'm kind of secretly neurotic about really small things like papers in envelopes being perfectly lined up before i put them in... and my guy has 2 tables that go together as one for a coffee table and his roommate pointed out to me the other day that i always make them perfectly aligned together if i see that they aren't when i go over there lol. so just stupid stuff like that i'm ocd about.
oh and when i was little i was really nuts about not steping on cracks or stepping in the exact center of a tile repeatedly when i walked. i dont do that any more though.
i dont even know if that's real OCD but it seems like it to me.:conf: | Does it affect your life? Or the life of those around you? |

no i'm too headstrong for that.
my cousin's wife is a chemist and she is really bad. it totally affects her life and her kids' lives, etc... she would bring blankets to their own grandmother's house for them to sit on and weird like that. she's crazy. |

| quote: | The typical OCD sufferer performs tasks (or compulsions) to seek relief from obsession-related anxiety. To others, these tasks may appear odd and unnecessary. But for the sufferer, such tasks can feel critically important, and must be performed in particular ways to ward off dire consequences and to stop the stress from building up. Examples of these tasks are repeatedly checking that one's parked car has been locked before leaving it, turning lights on and off a set number of times before exiting a room, repeatedly washing hands at regular intervals throughout the day, touching objects a certain amount of times before leaving a room, or walking in a certain routine way. Physical symptoms may include those brought on from anxeties and unwanted thoughts, as well as tics or Parkinson's disease-like symptoms: rigidity, tremor, jerking arm movements, or involuntary movements of the limbs.

i dunno dude. before i left my apt this morning i checked 3 times in a matter of about 10 minutes to make sure i had unplugged my iron. lol it's like i knew i did, but i wanted to make sure again. and i also have a phsyical, sometimes uncontrollable "tick". i twitch/roll my nose a lot. |

Then you must not know cat lovers. They seem to consistently have dirty ass cars and homes. By no means are ALL that way, but a lot sure as hell are.

Probably because it's the most predominant one. |
I already knew this, but was seeking other points of view in an attempt to broaden my views on this subject.

...because it's like saying:
"Why is it that when people do something crazy, others always call them schizophrenic, even though the symptoms could be quite different to the actual disease?"
or
"Why is it that people say it's raining cats and dogs when it's actually raining water?"
You're being overly literal and it's a ing stupid question. |
