when someone mentions OCD that people automatically assume they are clean freaks?
This was sparked when I was waiting for the office to get opened this morning, and someone passing was talking to a coworker and he called her OCD. Her first reaction was, "How am I ocd? Have you seen my desk?!" |

Because OCD people are often compelled to be neat/clean/organisation freaks. |

While I would be quick to agree, there are a ton of other ticks that these OCD freaks perform. Why is this one the most predominant one that people cling to? |

i'm convinced i have some mild form of it and i'm not really a neat freak in the least bit. i mean, my place is pretty clean for the most part but i'm not one of those, "OMG! DISHES IN THE SINK OMGOMG" lol
i'm kind of secretly neurotic about really small things like papers in envelopes being perfectly lined up before i put them in... and my guy has 2 tables that go together as one for a coffee table and his roommate pointed out to me the other day that i always make them perfectly aligned together if i see that they aren't when i go over there lol. so just stupid stuff like that i'm ocd about.
oh and when i was little i was really nuts about not steping on cracks or stepping in the exact center of a tile repeatedly when i walked. i dont do that any more though.
i dont even know if that's real OCD but it seems like it to me.:conf: |

| omg u just reminded me of a funny erowid story i read a long time ago about a guy who had a difficult experience with 2pcp or di 028rlxjgfkja lol one of those ing weird acidy-lab drugs and he was spitting on his own walls and his friend was like, "DUDE! stop spitting on the walls" so he spit on the floor and was like, "what? i spit on the floor" and then he picked up a spoon and put it in his mouth and attempted to light it and smoke it :stongue: |
