lol it's overkill for what you're doing. But that's a really nice comp, how much did you spend about 1500?

Yep, it's really good.

Actually I built a computer very similar to yours, two of them.

P5Q Pro and two P5K-E and they are both solid boards.
Used the same case, no complaints. The fan is ing massive lol 200mm.
Q9650, Q6600 and a E8400. no complaints with either 3. they are all wicked.

Mushkin ram is solid.

I'm not encouraged by the fact the first line refers to a CPU that doesn't exist - the Q9550 is a quad core, so I'm assuming the "Core 2 Duo" is the part that's in error rather than the "Q9550".

And I thought the normal practice was to ask about these things before buying them...

Anyway, it's fine, but so is pretty much anything you buy these days. The real question is what did you pay for all this?

Thats odd...

I just looked at my receipt again and it sais Intel Core 2 Duo Q9550 but when I search for Q9550 on the net it comes up as a Quad so Im going to call them up and see whats going on.

And yes I paid 1700 taxes in and thats including a monitor.

, is that too much? lol.

EDIT: Its Quad...not Duo...the guy ed it up when he was making the receipt. And he is supposed to overclock it to 3.6 for me.

Well the thing that brought it up was the Windows Vista which was 120 I think...and 60 bucks for putting the computer together...a few other small details here and there.

Do I see two different CPU heatsinks in your list?

Thermalright > Thermaltake

And for the harddrive you should have got the WD6400AAKS.

Originally the guy was trying to sell me a 10,000 RPM Raptor 320 G Hard Drive but it was 300 bucks LOL.

Oh and I only see Thermaltake...where do you see Thermalright?

good cheap pc !

I would of gone with AMD CPU like the Phenom and u don't need 4 gig of ram.. My next pc has to have a SSD (solid state disk).. ssd's makes your system incredible fast

anyone interested in those intel atom cpu's I hear they use a very small amount of power. The battery life lasts like 12 hours.

Absolutely not worth it. You'll never notice the difference and you might end up making the system unstable or shortening the life of the CPU.

As for whether or not it's too much - that's relative to what you're going to do with it. Value-per-hardware it's not bad (there's probably a 10% commission in there), although $1700 sounds like a lot for web surfing when you can get that from a $500 Dell.

If you're going to be playing games, doing video editing, production, graphic design, DVD ripping, that sort of thing, then you need a beefier rig. For Facebook and YouTube and TA, you could have gone BOTB.
