It's that time again for my second favorite major :D.
No clear cut champion this year and Federer as the second seed :eyes:. Will Nadal continue to cruise through the hard court season? I think he can depending on how much tennis he plays these next two weeks and his health. Us Americans would love to see James Black pull off another upset of someone at Federer's level but given that Young is currenty challenging him during this first round match I doubt it. He is not the player he once was :(
The woman's draw is a bit more open so that'll be fun to watch. Dementieva coming off an Olympic victory will have a good showing as will probably Ana Ivanovic but I would really like to see Dinara Safina grab her first title especially after having such a great year. I like the type of tennis she's been playing this season and she's exciting to watch. As always, I like the less than popular Williams sisters :)

Nadal will win unless Federer magically comes back out of the slump he's had this year.
I like how I call it a slump, even though he's number two in the world! I don't know. He just hasn't looked the same this whole year. I hope he comes back though. |

blake is a bum and he deserved to lose last night's match.
i'm so tired at work right now. i was waiting around until about 1245 just in case things went horribly wrong for the crew working the blake match. |

| I shall be watching inbetween other things like live footy & cricket. Saw a bit of Davenport & Dementieva yesterday. Looking forwards to ivanovic & some of the russians who play a nice ground stroke based game which can be good to watch in the ladies and for the men, seeing who out of fed, nadal, murray & djokovic can go furtherest. |

In my opinion, any athlete that can overcome the 'oh so dreaded' end of their carreer with a good head on their shoulders, the ability to overcome athletic rivalries et al makes me feel proud of being human again.
