The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time [The Water Temple] (N64) - Raise the water, lower the water, raise the water, lower the water....ugh, dammit! Not "hard" so much as tedious.
|
in hell, I remember playing through that temple... I actually found the "Shadow Link" harder than trying to figure out the water levels :p |

im playing sands of time right now and the camera is getting me frustrated every now and again, getting stuck behind pillars in combat so i cant see what is going on and trying to make some jumps has been annoying...
most things that piss me off is just dodgy ai, like the boss battles in street fighter and playing nba jam |

I think that's mandatory of a shooter. Then when you finally beat it you feel like such a champ.
Reminds me of the good days of old school gaming where you'd tell your friends you finished a game and they wouldn't believe you - because actually finishing a game in those days was a ing accomplishement. Nowadays everything is a cakewalk, like watching an interactive movie that forces you to pay attention. Skill based games are becoming incredibly rare. :( |

haha, so true! that's why i HATE when people say "i beat X the other day". most modern games are made to be "experienced" and finishing them takes very little skill. games like ikaruga, anyone that can finish that game deserves to use the word "beat"! |

Yeah. Not to say there aren't some fantastic experience-based games in this modern age (bioshock for instance), but for that reason they tend to have little to no replay value, wheras I'm still playing my old SNES games because they're still as fun as ever. |

The last story mission in GTA:SA. Its like 4 missions in 1. It takes like 12 min to beat and if you die you have to start at the begining of the mission.
Contra without the code is also pretty impossible. |
