so true. a lot of the 80's and early 90's video games had such emotional music. film music is the same. take the music from 'willow' and compare it to the music on 'lord of the rings'. willow has a brilliant melody, lotr has a standard melody. |

dance music is always going to be what you make it. i've always hated dnb ever since i begin listening to dance music with the crystal method - vegas back in 97 and will continue to do so beacuse personaly i think it sucks, however i never go around downing it because it is part of the dance scene and adds to the community.
the problem is not 'the state of trance' it is the 'state of mind' s have out there that instantly dislike anything they don't approve of. they sound like a bunch of hate mongering christians instead. |

see i'm not sure if that's the crux of the problem really, because I find most of today's producers load up a patch and play chords/piano notes, and move from there
while maybe back then the hardware itself would be inspiring, as the knobs/switches are tangible.. dont know |
