i know! that's the one thing that really pisses me off. there's no possibility for me to say "haha told you so!" which is just frightfully unfair!
is there a version of the bible, you know, re-written? :D yeah, i know there's the 'good news' but that wasn't re-written enough. i'd love to read a copy of the bible if you had written it for instance. you could just omit the whole begetting! that was more repetitive than techno. |

I'd say God's more the force... an omnipresent bind that is made of everything and holds everything together.

i agree, but george kinda made it as though the midichlorians fathered anakin which was just gay. the single biggest reason star wars > bible, is that star wars jesus was WAY more interesting. if jesus had been tempted by the darkside and run amok and that was why the world we were in is so today- that's the kind of storyline that i could get down to :D
maybe leading an unholy army and using his evil magics to conquer the world.
jesus was an adult when he found out he was the son of god, yeah? does that mean when he was growing up like all good young males, he had a dedicated habit of pumping his stump? |

I agree with you on the midichlorians thing... it's confusing. Perhaps he intended for them to be interpreted as a physical manisfestation of the force.
BTW, Jesus was tempted by the "darkside" but managed to resist it for the most part; however, there are points in the bible where he gives into his anger (as the Emperior would say) but in' up the stalls of vendors in the temple isn't nearly as spectacular as a lightsabre fight. Of course, if you read some of the gnostic gosples (specifically that of Phillip) he does go pretty darkside in his youth... even smites a kid for apparently know reason... which is pretty close to that whole telepathy choking trick.

Indeed, it was not until he was baptised that he was made aware he was the son of god (30ish). That said, the bible is pretty clear that he was a very devout jew and incredibly well versed in "the laws," as the jews would say. It's also clear that he was a rabbi before learning of his devine mission. So, it could be that he resisted temptation; however, I prefer to think that Jesus' pre-"hey you're God" life was a perfectly typical Galallian life. I believe this because based on the gospels and the massianic prophecies in the OT it seems the only reason for God to decend to earth would be to fully experience what his "children" experience in life. If this is true than it seems probable that God would want the full experience. Also, Joseph was a devout jew... it's likely he would have fulfilled his obligations to his son well before his 30th birthday (middle aged at the time); those being - brisk, ba mitzvah (sp), teach a trade, arrange a marriage. Given these two assumptions it only makes sense that Jesus played as a child, jerked the gherk as a pre-teen, learned to be a stone worker (that's what Joseph was), got married, ed his wife (maybe had a kid), etc. prior to being advised of his devine mission. |

If the goal of decending to earth was to have a fully human experience then it would be necessary for at least part of that life to be lived without the knowledge that he was God (or part thereof). |

I have no idea how what you have just said could be achieved...but I suppose you can fall back on the idea that 'god can do anything' to explain this particular piece of nonsense.
I'd love to have been there when Jesus found out he was god:
Joseph: "Jesus, I've something to tell you...you are in fact an omniscient and all powerful diety in human form; who created the universe and everything in it".
Jesus: "Christ almighty dad, are you for real? How come I've only become aware of this now?".
Joseph: "Don't ask me son, it was your ing idea...And I'm not your dad".
Jesus: "Then who is?"
Joseph: "You are". |

That would be funny... but it was an angel who told him... Joseph would have already been dead at this point. |

I've never heard that before, in what book/chapter does it say an angel told Jesus he was god? What age was Jesus when he found out? |
