Photos are great... I actually went ahead and read the article.
I love how Sasha says that his digital remixing was flat, so he turned to the German producers for help and he ended up running most of the CD through analog to get the warmth of sound.
DJs TAKE NOTE OF THIS... your sound is FLAT when you play digital most of the time. Analog sounds so much better.... if you can play it on wax, please do that for all of us out in the crowd's ears.

99% of the crowd's ears aren't going to know the difference.

And I don't buy the "vinyl sounds better" argument for even a second, especially when it comes to playing in larger clubs with less than perfect sound. There's a lot more going on between the needle and your audiences ears than just the distinction between analog and digital.

delobbo
vinyl does sound better. :)

don't make me whip out my college sound engineering textbooks and get technical.

its a taste thing. do you like warm distorted images of the original track or do you like clear precise pristine quality accurate representations?

i much prefer clarity in my own taste. i do, however, respect vinyl and can see how people like that sound. i just don't like the holier than thou attitude behind it...doesn't make sense when none of it is based in fact.
